New Grower Soil vs hydro Questions

I got Mylar for mine also and I have black tubing for my air pump so I’ll see how that works for now. I’ll be putting up pictures soon waiting on a few more seeds to show up before I start everything

If this hydro grow goes south like the last one I’m goin to try soil just wanted to get some idea what is easiest/less complicated way with soil. This time In my hydro I’ve taken every measure to make sure there is no mess ups but since I’m still really new there’s always the chance I’ll mess it up lol.
Have a look into.coco mate the best of both worlds fast like hydro but hard to overwater like soil [emoji106][emoji106]

I just ordered 20m of IceLine to replace the black tubing in my DWC setup I used for my first grow.
I will also be gluing Mylar Sheeting to the top of the pots - possibly wrapping the entire pots in it.
Rez temperature is a Biatch due to everything being black
Little pic of my set up, the white really does make a difference, I have had no issues with res temps

Boradan:
I recommend something white (Orca Grow Film) as opposed to mylar. Mylar can reflect hotspots like a parabolic mirror to the undersides of your leaves burning them. Are you using HydroGuard, IMHO it is a must in DWC.

Why is hydroguard a must?

This is what Botanicare has to say about it.This OMRI listed root inoculant uses a highly active strain of bacillus that rapidly colonizes and protects the rhizosphere against pathogenic bacteria, amplifying root mass, and improving root vigor.

I had bad root rot in a DWC once and it cured it overnight saving my crop. I used it for every DWC after that and never had a root problem again, even with reservoir temperatures all the way up to 82°F! In my mind it makes it indispensable.

Just wondering isn’t sm-90 the same thing? I may get hydroguard to that might have saved me from the white/clear slime on my last grow

No it is not the same thing. Based on the MSDS it is this:

I do not want Triethanolamine in my medicinal cannabis.
