Hello every one. :smokeit: can some one please point me to a thread on soil for AF? I'm looking for some type of guide to go off for my first AF grow while i wait for my super soil to cook. I was thinking of using foxfarm ocean forest then some kind of tea to finish. would it be ok if i pop the seed in a jiffy disk and cut the bottom off them stick it in the dirt so the seed and sprout wont burn and work in to the foxfarm? thanks for any help. sorry if i put this in the wrong spot. :thank:

I personally am not a big fan of Jiffy disks because I've had too many experiences where they didn't break down and decompose like they're supposed to. I'd recommend either starting in a party cup with seedling mix (Fox Farm Light Warrior or Jiffy Mix) or at least hollowing out an area about the size of the cup in your Ocean Forest and filling it with seedling mix. This will give the seedling a week or so without contacting the hot FFOF. I would also strongly recommend that you check the runoff pH of the pots before you germ your seed, as my last couple of bags of FF soil have had very low pH. Another option is to go with Happy Frog which is not quite as hot as FFOF and has less of a chance to burn the seedlings. If you use either, I'd recommend adding a bit more perlite as they can pack up a bit by the end of the grow. You should get close to three weeks with either before you need to feed.

We do have a soil forum here: https://www.autoflower.org/f26/. If it's for sale, chances are that somebody here has used it. The search box at the upper right should give you some good results. I'm assuming you are in the US, so you have some other options than Fox Farms like Sunshine and ProMix. Maybe check out what you local shop sells and then come back and ask opinions on each?

Thank you for the info.
