@Eyes on Fire Ok mate what do ya recon .What I have here is something from the rain forest , I presume it is a fungi to break down organic matter ? Do you think I would be better off with it in my compost or could I but it in my soil . I used Cos Cos with a molasses water mix and covered it with a dish cloth and leaf litter -- 2 day ago -- any ideas .

well if its moist you could lay it out flat somewhat and let the surface area get more life popping on it and split it between the two.but depends where your lacking at. soil for canna growing? or the OD compost pile(s)?! either will work fine. but thats what Id do.maximize the surface area of beneficial microlife and treat both areas.

well it looks like tinkering is in order bro :D soil, inoculate type for a tea and soil too. try a slightly heavied up base of coco coir based medium to try and hold an inoculate better. worth a shot. wilds work well when dealing with unknowns. nature adapts the best :D but indoors run in sparingly and clean as you can to inhibit any bacteria growth.but Im betting it'll do fine with harvested mycos from the earth as well. or leaf mold too.KILLER stuff there. takes close to a year to do it right. but well worth it.
