SOS - Newbie & Plants LOOK ILL...

Hi,

don't bother - it's all "low-tech" :-) Just some toys, because i really need my tent to be totally stealth I experimented with some fans and ended up with the latest pc-tech for the outtake and airflow fans - the cables simply go to the fan-controllers so I can adjust the speed/noise just as I need it. The loose hanging cables are some temperature sensors - which i actually don't really need. The tube you see is only on one - It's just a dripping system.
I still guess you shoult water them more often. Once a week in such small pots...try to feed them at least all 3-4 days and see what happens.

Cheers

Hi Kfigerm,

Thanks for the advice the other day

I watered them that night & the next morning they visibly perked up!

Blimey, I've gone fromone extreme to the other - I almost drowned them as seedlings! :o

I'll water more reguarly as you suggested...Nice one! :five: & I've got bigger pots to put them into in a couple of days.

Oh yeah, how could YOU tell they were screaming out for water by the way?

well :-)

Theres no magic about that. I just looked at the pics and the rest came out of experience of what I saw before.
And then you told me you fed them a week ago....in so small pots there is not much water to do photosynthesis.
There is (imho) a big misconception that our gils like dry soil...they (again imho) DON'T...as you can see looking at DWC or other techniques.
The main thing is to get 02 to the roots and prevent root-rot....if that can be achieved, you can hardly overwater them.

Cheers

Hi all,

I´m new here and don´t want to smart-arse around but during my work with all sorts of plants and all sorts of symtoms I figured out that it can be more constructive to not change to many parameters at a time when experiencing problems. This approach makes it easier to figure out what the real problem was.
I know that in case of an emergency one wants to do everything to rescue the plants but the next time you experience the same problem you don´t know what the solution is.
If you change to many things you can´t tell in the end what really caused the problem.

Regards

Hi Kfigerm,

I've started Biobizz grow + water ('water helps with photosynthesis'?) & I've also re-potted them into 4ltr pots the other day... The roots had outgrown the little pots I had, Blimey the roots grow well quick!

I hope that will do them as I'm growing small auto's (50-100cm)?

of course Eviman is right :-)

4l is still "small" but you can influence the growth also manipulating the distance of the lamps...especially when the "stretch" begins and you want to keep them small, put lights nearer.
The purpose of the preflower-stretch is to geth the budsites to more light..if you give them what they want, they won't stretch too much.
If they still grow stronger than you want, try "fim"ing or cutting the main stem...but only do that before or in the very beginning of the stretch.

Cheers

what do you think about 0.5l pots and bigbud auto wich wont strech in bloom that much (according to seller)

hey they seem to get back up dude, glad you made it too.
mine arent much taller, I think its because of auto plus ESL,
so dont be worried about outgrowing your space.
at the actual growth of my ladies I even think about
having 3 in my pc case and doing a nice V-scrog to adjust height.

potsize with 4l is quite big for a stealth setup.
I got 0.5l in a 20cm x 40xm x 60cm space. ( not saying this is perfect)

so relax and wait for the ladies to do some action. I know its hard to just wait and watch.
If I could, I would stroke them all day long and give nutes every 5 minutes so they would be smokeable in 2 or 3 days :face:

hahaha, Cheers dude!

I just wanted to weigh in and say you didn't sound like a smart arse at all mate, quite the opposite in fact. That right there is some very solid, logical advice. Cover the basics and hear Muddy's truthbombs and I think you'll be as right as rain jonny  they honestly don't look that bad at all to me, unless I'm tripping a bit more than I realise.

Hi,

dunno about quoting here, so I'll just reply inline

bigbud auto .... don't know them... should be worth a try

as for the pot size and the plant size... it's a matter of genetics and (stable) phenos me thinks. There are really dwarfs out there, but even with big pots it's possible to keep your girls "small" - but 50-100cm is'nt small for autos, it's quite usual and I'm still working my way up to a "proper" 1m :-) ...I hat some 1m plants, but they definitley stretched out which was my fault and they didn't yield as the actual size would imply.

But in bigger pots you have more "control"...I'm not japanese, but I don't want to get the feeling how to live in a 2sqm "flat", and so I want wo spare that experience for my so beloved girls ;-)

Someday when I have a solid ground for further experiments, I'll go to scrog and lst, but for now I only do it when I see they tend to outgrow my space...I'm still a noob :-)

"If I could, I would stroke them all day long and give nutes every 5 minutes so they would be smokeable in 2 or 3 days" ...well well...DON'T ;-) the most girls die because of too much love ;-)

really just

"relax and wait for the ladies to do some action. I know its hard to just wait and watch." :-)

Cheers
