The ladies are looking very good bro, I cant give advice about tiering as I have never done any my self yet. Mainemed does a lot of tiering he may be able to help. I have though about using 1 gallon smart pots to start my girls in then filling a 10 gallon smart pot with soil and just simply setting the 1 gallon on top of the 10 gallon and letting the roots grow through the 1 gal and into the 10 HAHA sounds weird I know but I figured its always worth a shot to see what happens because transplanting out of fabric pots is a bitch. I will post a picture of a WW in a 1 gallon SP for you later to show how big it has gotten. It is about 4 1/2 feet tall and fairly bushy...

I think what I am going to start doing is running Roots Excelerator at triple strength for just the 3-4 weeks of veg then stop using it. IMO I can get the roots nice and full quickly then just feed the roots that are there... I will do this on a couple plants to see the results and make my decision based on my findings and results...

this is a great idea imo

i can imagine it could get pretty tricky up-potting out of cloth, but only assuming as i a about to use my first one. thanks for all the grear ideas. i always thought my roots were as healthy as possible. they are comepared to others around here. you guys have given me new goals to shoot for. thanks for the mota-vation ( pun intended )...............................cb420

No problem always like to help a brotha out, If you do have to transplant the best and easiest way imo is to roll the fabric down almost like you was taking a wet sock off haha sorry about the nasty description but that's how I got a couple out of 7 gallons to place them into 10's.

done and by by smart pot.:Stones slap: but if it saves a plant. whats 5 bucks. i took a picture of my plan. in the first pic you can see the difference in 7 gallon pots. one is a smart-pot type called a self pruner. the other is a root builder or some crap. my plan is the 3rd pic. two in the tall ones and tier into the shorter ones. sounds good here, how about there?

i think this will get me through this grow. and it will help me decide which pots i am going to. i would like to say that both of these pots hold well more them 5 gallons i was using. thanks for all the direction guys. i truly cant wait to see what the spydres do now. i feel like i am a bit more prepared then normal. thanks and off to read up on tiering....fun fun

Yeah I cant remember if I mentioned it before ''bad memory to much herb'' but the fabric pots are ''comparable'' as in a 30 gallon smart pot hold about 20 gallons of soil but growing area of 30 gallons. saves you in the cost of soil which in my case buying 6 bails of sunshine and pro-mix at 40 bucks a bail I want to save as much as I can as I'm sure you do to....

so i just did a test with mine and to my surprise they held the same amount or close enough to call it that. and they both held 7 gallons of dirt. imagine that. i was sure they wouldn't hold 5. either of them. optical illusion at its finest. gn all. lots or work to do tomorrow. i am topping to clone all my photos... yeah . but i could be at a desk in a cubicle , so no complains here..............

Was that the root maker pot or regular plastic pot you put into the smart pot? If it was root maker into the smart pot I'm sure that root makers are a comparable also as in both the root maker and smart pots are smaller but compare to larger pots...

it was a 5 gallon bucket used to do my comparison. i then topped off the 7 gal containers with a one gallon pitcher. so i first filled the root maker, then i dumped it into the cloth pot (air pruner pot) and the i filled the root maker again with a 5 gallon bucket and needed two pitchers full from my one gallon pitcher to completely fill the root maker after the 5 gallons was dumped in. i also know my bucket is five gallons because i filled it with my pitcher before to check when i mix my molassess. so i would say it was a fairly accurate test. but no where near exact. but close enough for me to call them both true 7 gallon pots. now to see if the taller one works better for me or the fatter one. thanks for keeping me on point. comparison testing needs some type of control. thanks for the avatar. great laughs man.

till later...........................
