This thread will be dedicated to any and all Dragon variety seeds i grow out. Big thank you to Wiz developing the Dragon line. From some of what i've seen so far in other grow journals, i should have something very special to look forward to.

and some prototypes on the way thanks to Gloworm winning a seed prize for that delicious AFN cake! gotta love a great baker

I'll be using the solo cup tier method for starters, then transferring each plant into 2 gallon pots. some of the dragons WILL become dwc babies, but not these ones. I Wanted to give a go at a medium based hydroponic grow so i could do more plants at once...DWC Princess still lives deep within me

light specs are undetermined still as i am in the process of more purchases. Will update when appropriate


Thursday night (1-12-12) I soaked 24 beans in ph'ed RO water. 14 of the Bobbys #2 and 10 of the Thunders.

Friday, i placed all 24 seeds in these organic Root Riot cubes. I did not expect such fast germination rate with these things but they sure took off. Had tap roots coming out the bottom on saturday, the very next day! Skipped the paper towel method completely and got faster results than when i started seeds out in rockwool. Very impressed with the Root Riot cubes.

Since the tap roots were already coming out of the bottom i had to get going on transfering them to the solo cups and i'm still waiting on my order of Sunshine Advanced Super Hydro medium to get to my hydro shop. I ordered it last week and should be here this week for pick up. Cuts down the shipping cost for me by $30 when you have a good repor with the hydro shop guys. They don't carry this stuff normally but i wanted to try it out.

I picked up some pro-mix in the mean time for my solo cups. saving the super hydro for the 2 gallon pots.

All the babies are under 2 t5 lights right now and by the end of today all should be above the dirt.

My question for right now is: do i transfer the solo cups to 2 gallon pots after they sex? or will that be too long to wait.

Any and all are welcomed along for the Dragon ride. Comments, input, suggestions all welcomed.

iv got into using 44 oz cups because i asked my self the same ? and thought that 44 oz would be large enough to take me to sex.. if that helps any and WVR had alot to do with it.... good grows love the vids

sorry didn't see that question... solos are a bit small and probably will stunt... I wouldnt go past 2 weeks in a solo... or even 10 days.... they really aren't enough root volume... 32 oz cups I found were the smallest I could swing and even those are pushing it.

The only reason you see me get away with 24 oz cups is cuz i am not worried about stunting as my space is so small.

I found out the answer to this question 2 grows ago when I descovered the tier cup method. You are right jm 10 days is just about pushing it in those solo dolo cups, with the tier you can go a good 2 weeks without any stress. By then the boys usually start showing themselves anyways.

Speaking of tie cup method, I miss Fullduplex! What a wealth of knowledge he shared with this community...hope he finds his way back here eventually

Hi Spels, for starters how to seed making stuff would be helpful:

• pollinate a single branch including a bag over the flower ie. what type of cover, what about perspiration/humidity/fungus that might kill the pollen due to moisture build up. How long until cover can be safely removed. How to check that pollination was successful. Should it be done in the morning or evening, what about the bright light or sun, will that destroy some pollen and reduce seeds possible. I am sure there is much more things on this topic that could improve the seed creation outcome.
• When to know when a seeded bud is ready to harvest
• Do & don'ts of seed collection & storage

That's a tall order to fill dingo, breeding is not something I'm confident in at all but I'm not scared to dive right in I tell you that. I promise you that I'll do my best to get some footage on the process. I have been playing but keeping it under wraps as I'm still learning myself and get real nervous about cross contamination so the boys never get any vid time as of right now. When I get my "breeding" room finished its on and popping. By then I should have had a few seed runs under my belt.

I did collect pollen from a black dragon as I had a male. It's in the freezer in an air tight small vial. I hope this is the proper way to store it, please someone correct me if it's not.

I did have a blood dragon male that I kept but it wound up throwing out pistols! Total freak hermie plant so it got tossed. If anything awesome comes from the black dragon pollen, AFN will be the 1st to know! Still testing the waters and taking my time. Growing the buds is still a learning process that I'm trying to master first
