Hello all
I have a sf1000 100w spider farmer led here.
The driver is mounted on the board and to adjust the dimmer you need to screw it off and fiddle with a screw driver etc, just a right stupid design (wish I went with a different light in hindsight)
Can anyone recommend replacement drivers with a dimmer knob on them? I would also prefer to mount the driver outside the tent as well for less heat. Something like the migro 100 led drivers.
Failing that I will have to cut the lead and extend it to have the driver out of the tent and fiddle with the dimmer knob there.

Thanks

I've been using a SF1000 for a couple months now. The heatsink and driver don't seem to get that hot that I would worry about mounting it outside the tent. I suspect the dimmer on the bottom isn't really designed to be played with that much and is the reason Meanwell put it there. Set it and forget it kind of idea. I haven't had to move my light very much. I started out seedlings around 26" and for the most part the plant has just grown into the light. It's sitting around 13" early flower and seems to be ok right now with an autoflower.

I may just raise and lower them more over a grow but to be honest I’d rather use as little electricity as possible, especially on autos when lights are on 18+ hours a day, turns in to a decent saving even setting them to 50w for the first 2 weeks, then 75w in veg and up to full power in flower.

I'm fairly certain the AB version of the same driver that comes with the light has the type of dimming you need.

You would need to wire it to a 100k ohm potentiometer though.

Might find it a few $ cheaper elsewhere, but that's the driver.

EDIT: woops, I should have read the thread more carefully, AFNG pointed out the driver already. The meanwell drivers that end in "B" have capability to dim w/ dimmer, but they are otherwise the same as their counterparts that end in "A" and will work in the same situations.

Thanks all

I just bought some 2 core 1mm rubber flex and weatherproof connectors so will just extend the driver cable and wall mount it outside the tent for easy access, will mount them right above the wall plugs that show what power they are drawing for easy fine tuning of power,
:)

Thanks
