Several weeks ago, noted spidermites had found my ladies in waiting.....early in flower, so I hung a hot shot in the tent...few days later...seemed I had curbed their onslaught....couple weeks ago, noticed webs again on most of the upper buds of several plants....brewed some tobacco, mixed in some alcohol and sprayed....seemed again to knock'em back...acquired some DE...dusted'em with it....wow...the fine dust shows just how much of a canopy of webs are reallly there....I was shocked to say the least!.....
Daily now, I'm emptying my tent and vacuuming all colas to remove the webs as much as possible, then lightly dusting the plants with DE again.....

These lil fuckers have pissed me off.....with all the tent ladies late in flower, I am hesitant to spray with tabocco and alcohol again...I have DE sprinkled in each pot and on each plant, vac'ed and redusted twice daily and I am still see live action...though considerably less....

Having seldom ever having mites this bad, and always handled'em with hot shot, this recent infestation has me wondering if I have some kind of super-mite!...they're about to cause some anxiety BIG TIME!

Question: What's the most effective way to handled this prob so late in flower?
I keep dusting and vac'ing and redusting....of course, when harvest is done, area will get a thorough bleaching, and anything else I can think of...

I always have to deal with them outdoors. I start weekly treatments of insecticidal soap as soon as they start getting descent sized buds. Insecticidal soap is a contact killer. You could move the plants to a shower or tub and spray them down, repeat 3-4 days later and maybe a 3rd application if needed. Then spray with plain water a couple days before harvest to remove any residue.

Dont fuck around mites suck....

these work 100% hang it in your tent and 24hrs later you will not find a mite alive... Leave it for a month so any eggs that hatch will also die... Its the same mustard gas that killed so many people in WW1... so enjoy in small doses...lol If your worried about your health pull it in a day or two zip lock bag it and put it back in after 4 days then again in 4 days...

It works and I preach it to everyone... sprays of soap never work 100%.

Thanks guys.....I've used the hot shot no-pest strips for years with my bonzai trees and with my herb grows and they always provided great results.....this time however, those lil critters have been tough....although I've seen mostly dead mites, there are still fresh webs ot the very tops of the buds....
Although I have very good ventilation and humidity is 45ish, I'm a bit noided to spray now as all babes are in final 10 days or so...gonna keep dusting and vac'ing I guess....

Veg area shows no indications of mites...but I have no probs spraying the crap outa them....

its a bit late in the day but friendly predators could be an option

Oh yeah....predators are on list ....have to order them from local grow shop........ ...try to get ahead of'em next time....

brotha i feel your pain...! been fightin mites all summer myself, went and got 4500 ladybugs and let them all go in my grow rooms. that really helped through june and july but eventually the LB lefft. then Jackal told me about Liquid Ladybug, they sent me a free sample and i used it w/ great results. the stuff doesn't only kill the mites but it will destroy the eggs as well. heres a link... http://www.liquidladybug.com/?gclid=CL79quOstqsCFacaQgodEmG_eA

Glad it's working for you bro.

Thanks ALL !!! Those lil buggers have had me outta breath !!!...Yeah, bout done all I can and it seems I've kilt off the infestation...been about the worse I've ever had...didn't realize how bad it looked til I dusted with DE...really shows where the action is.....or was.....although I was shocked to see how fast the buggers can take over a healthy grow, I don't think they've hurt me too bad...the stained pistols from the tobacco spray looks bad...yuk...hope it doesn't taste like SKOAL !!!...seems most if not all activity has stopped within a few days of dusting, a fresh hot shot and vacuuming...ladies appreciate the attention and have started showing off theri juiciness again...
Yeah, I use hot shots...just have to keep them fresh...they don't last 4 months as adver-ed....but they do work...I do make sure my ventilation is dialed UP just before harvest and when I dry, it's got lots of fresh air moving .....
