Grow Mediums Standard autopot versus modified autopot

we all make mistakes sweetie, trust me. I am the QUEEN of mistakes:cooldance:

FYI....never re arrange your tent without removing your plants first. (dont ask)

The only way I learn something that sticks with me for a long time is if I made a mistake first. But even then I'm apt to repeat the mistake again. It's because I'm all about continuous learning :-)

The Critical 2.0s are 18 days from sprout. I'll get them on the rez and air by this Thrs which is 21 days. The plant in the smaller pot looks different. It is shorter and wider. The one in the big pot did a nice job of recovering from my spilled nutes stain on the leaves. I'm not sure that I can really come to any conclusion on the modified autopot vs stock at this point. Modified pot is on the right side.

I started 2 Sweet Seeds Red Poison in solo cups and transferred to autopots about a day ago. One of the pots is modified as well. These are a week behind the Dinafems.

After some thinking today I decided to turn on the air pump and domes but not the rez. I want to see if air domes alone in the modified pot vs stock would show a big difference. Both plants are getting roughly 25 liters per minute of air right now. And I'll hand water for a couple of days then turn on the rez. I'm hoping that smaller modified pot really shows it self over the next two days. As in it grows faster, eats faster because the air in the small pot is more intense, greater etc.

Finally running on the autopot system. I have the rez loaded up with my growth feed and the trays flooded right away and the rez has gone down a couple of inches already over night. And the airdomes are on with lots of air in the lines. Both plants are doing well now. The plant in the smaller pot looks greener, larger leaves, but is shorter than the one in the stock pot.

And the next two to join this experiment are Sweet Seeds Red Poison. They are not doing very well. Not sure what is the issue but they are small and slow to grow and have some yellow on the leaves. I started these in shorter bottomless solo cups in a tray and dome after popping the tap roots in paper towels. Then I transplanted them to the autopots. But its not really a transplant because I did not remove them from the original solo cups. I just lifted the solo cups without a bottom in to a hole I dug in the autopots. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

This is day 27 from sprout. And its been a week since the rez and air was turned on. I am loving feeding with the rez. Love it.

Modified pot on the right, stock on the left

They were both topped a week ago. An LST leaf tucking after. Debating on whether I will do any LST tie downs or not.

The plant in the modified pot is a darker emerald green compared to the standard pot. And it is also shorter, denser and thicker. The plant in the stock pot is lighter green and lankier.

Day 30 Dinafem Critical 2 autos

I don't think this experiment is just about the two different pots. Other factors probably at play too. The sisters look quite different from each other.

If if was to do a review on the autopots, I'd rave about them. Just using them for the first time has been a real blast this last month. And @BigSm0 lighting has been so easy to work with.

Sorry about the grade B pictures. They don't really show what I see.

This is the one from the stock pot. tall and lanky girl and light skinned. It's easy to see thru her to the other side. Nodes are wider apart.

And the short and stout lass. Much denser plant. Thicker stems and leaves. Dark skinned. Just seems healthier.
