Ok AFN,
would it be ok to start autos in red Solo cups and left for 2-3 weeks until transplant?
They would be sitting under the canopy of some flowering autos under a 400w Hps light running for 18hrs daily.

Want a head start but dont have room to start a separate CFL chamber for them.
They are going into 3Gal Pots after the flowering autos finish, But Im afraid they might become stunted in the cups... I know autos dont like to be transplanted.

:hot:

2 weeks is pushin it and 3 weeks in solo cups stunts-happened to me on a few occasions. Those little suckers fill a cup quick! If u do use them try tier transplanting-one cup with the bottom cut out inside another cup with a bottom. When its time to transplant just lift out the inner cup with bottom cut out-carefully-and transplant it into your 3 gallon pots.makes for minimal root disturbance and they hardly know they been moved.

I thought about something similar to that, Thanks for the reply!
Just eager to get a head start, Already had to delay them a month

I wouldn't transplant autos indoors, only for outdoor. Start them in the final pot.

The exception is if you have regular seeds and are not sure of sex or phenos, otherwise I think it's pointless to transplant.

I appreciate the help stylez rasta smoke
What if they start outside in their 3gal pots then bring them in after 3 weeks? and switch their light schedule to 20/4
I understand that could possibly bring bugs into the room but the ones indoor are sprayed with organics weekly and yet to see a pest problem.

I would just grow them out side if you can.
I start mine in 1 liter containers and transplant them at first sign of root coming out the bottom. 2 weeks usually.
