So I went to a local grow shop yesterday, stated my desire to get a price for a Secret Jardin Intense 150 grow tent.......the guy behind the desk disappeared out back to have a word with the owner, and I could hear a hushed conversation for a few minutes.......the Guy returned and said "sorry, we can't sell that to you, it is 150 x 300 cm, it is large enough for large scale commercial growing"........"if the Botanical enforcement Officers find out we sold such a tent, we will be in trouble".........

Ok no worries, how about some seeds then?.......

"You can only buy 5, and we don't have Frisian Duck in stock, but we can order them and you will have them in 2 weeks time"

Too late, never mind, so how about 10 x 50 L Plagron light mix?

"10 bags, I don't think so, I can sell you 2"

How about a price for a Can Classic carbon filter, the Can 350?

"The 350, ummmmm, that's a large filter, 700 m3/h......I don't think so, it could be used for large scale growing"

How do you guys manage to stay in Business?

The voyage to setting up a grow tent is turning into one long slugfest, a marathon with no goal line in sight. Almost everything has to be sourced outside Holland now, "cash payment and can you collect from the store please, we prefer not to ship any "large" orders, it could be seen as being used for "large" scale growing and we would be held responsible"........is the norm these days.

What a drag having to journey to Belgium and Germany, or ordered outside Holland on-line, and shipping charges for things like grow tents, carbon filter weighing 40+ kg's, soil, nutes is absolutely jaw dropping if one can find the grow shops........ and in the event, admittedly remote, you are stopped by the Coppers, 10 bags of Plagron and 100 Biotabs in the car is now potentially more dangerous than actually having 5 g of weed on you..........!

To top it all off, GN is out of lights and use candles in their office at the moment.......hopefully soon another dawn will break!

The saga of tribulations continue...... Yesterday I went to pick up some things for my setup....

- first stop a grow shop 80 km away...... Had received confirmation the day before that the 3 items ordered was ready for pickup between 10 - 12, got there, rang the door bell, and from an upstairs window a bloke poked his head tentatively out and asked what I wanted, he looked like he was ready to de-poke on the double if any whiff of something untowards was detected....
.... Obviously deciding that his organoleptic scan of myself and surroundings revealed no tell tale indications of danger..... He lumbered down the stairs and opened the door, performed another organoleptic manoeuvre with nostrils flaring, eyes darting around and both ears swiveling in different directions, all at the same time...... Having satisfied himself the coast was clear, he grudgingly let me in......

"I'm sorry, but 27 grow shops was raided yesterday by the fuzz and tax collectors..... I can't sell you the fan you ordered, I only have the root it sponges and the first feed I don't have because the supplier decided to go fishing yesterday and hasn't been seen or heard from since..... "

So I drove all this way to pick up 9 Euro's worth of rooting sponges.....?

So after having started the day off on this high note, next planned stop was some 35 km away, but I couldn't get in contact with the grow shop and slowly wising up to the sudden enthusiasm for going fishing among grow shop proprietors and personnel.... What with the cod and sole fishing being very good this year, makes sense.... Only trouble with this was that I have already forked over a substantial amount of financial means for items badly needed, including the home of 7 DP seeds who are presently homeless after having just popped their heads up in the limelight....... All the Blue Lab gadgets and so forth.... Well, to make a long story short, turns out the guys a stop #2 hadn't gone fishing after all, last night I got this email

I forgot to mention there was a 3rd stop, another 100 km away, where things thankfully resembled something close to normalcy, everything ordered was there ready for pick-up, the couple running the shop was not surprised about my earlier adventures, yeah, the talk was about the 27 shops that got raided and asked to document that what they are selling isn't being used for canna culture, but they were of the opinion that it would all die down soon enough. The first lawsuits was filed last week, and even the fuzz was not sure how to deal with the ambiguities of the new Law.

While I was there we got to talk LED lights, and as usual the comments were that LED's were ok for vegging, but no good for flowering. I mentioned that there is folks pulling not insignificant amounts of bud off LED grown auto's, but they would have none of it............so after carefully deliberating and evaluating that, I decided it was politically and diplomatically correct to not ask if they were claiming some folks on here are photoshop artists and wildly exaggerating.......I did mention GN's HS1, and the guy looked up the DP crazy-led website........he got so engrossed reading that I had to cough discretely to remind him I was still there......hmmmmm, he said, this is interesting, on what forum did you say you saw those outlandish yields..........

So after this sojourn in the Dutch countryside yesterday, I returned home with less than 10 % of what I had set out to pick up......!

gbd, thanks for the rep, I have passed it on to the bloke at stop #1 who was a bit out of sorts to cheer him up a bit.....I mean, clearly he was so excited about the anticipation of flashing lights, sirens and a SWAT style raid with him in the starring role......that he could hardly control his bodily functions!

Well, the never ending story is still never ending......I still haven't got my stuff, I am out by more than 1200 Euro in not delivered items, the growshop www.growxl.nl claims they have been raided by the police and their bank accounts has been frozen, does not reply to emails anyone, phone is not answered and such, their official office address is in an abandoned dilapidated building in an industrial area........from the Dutch forums I can see I am not the only one by far........and is still accepting order without any indications of any trouble, more here, use google translate https://www.jointjedraaien.nl/wietforum/threads/29671-opgelet-met-growshop-growXL and https://www.jointjedraaien.nl/wietf...p-growXL?p=529635&highlight=growxl#post529635 for starters.....be warned, all indications is it is a scam!

So, I almost gave up on growing, but has managed to get 2 x Think Different and 3 x Frisian Dew growing in 4 Smartpots and 1 Thorny Trappypot with an airdome in it for good measure, filled with normal potting soil I happened to have. Lights are 2 x 500w Topled with 5 w chips, and the plants seem to be doing so so, day 33 and largest Dew and TD is now 36 cm and bushy as hell. Will see if I can get the enthusiasm up and start a noob grow journal where pretty much everything and anything has gone wrong at every turn, mainly thanks to the new Law here.

I also have 4 x Frisian Ducks growing in 10 liter pots in the garden, but man oh boy, they are real stinkers.....dunno how log I dare to keep them there.....another reason for trying everything to get the 150x300 cm grow tent that is among the items paid for but never delivered.

The local growshop has been raided too, all their electronics, lights, seeds, soil, nutes, etc. was collected in a truck. Was told the other day when I popped by the Police has started to auction off what they have confiscated without a court order, and there is now a trade in buying back your own stuff from the auctions.......go figure!

Wait so the raid.take all the gear.. the auction it.. isnt that double dipping, of some sort.. they will sell at auction what you already paid .. yet you cant claim it.. call police say thay stolen property you have papers .. idk
