Trying to steer to safe waters a grow that has suffered and endured far more than she deserves.

Past and current problems aside. They are what they are and what they are and how they happened we've been over everything under the sun except act of God which is probably what it is.

Here we are. Largely defoliated but alive. It's been 5 days since last water and it doesn't look like she's ready for more. I'm surprised at this. I've used 2 different probes. One says dry the other says moist. (I think these measuring instruments are a recipe for disaster) I've scratched the surface. The top is dry but just beneath that it feels moist/cool and compact, resistant to being scratched up. The soil is Happy, happy Frog with perlite mixed in 1 part to 3 (25% perlite) If it was ever light and fluffy it ain't no more. Lifting the pots they just don't have that light feel.

Do these sensory perceptions conjure up images that you experienced growers out there can describe in a way that is useful? hint: Does it suggest anything about the plants' condition? Is light water intake typical for plants largely defoliated? Am I better off waiting till they're clearly dry or risk overwater?

If she is moist just under the surface and she still feels heavy than she doesn't need watering. They usually need water more often when there older if they have a healthy root system that sucks up more water.
