Wow what a grow just new on this have a few grows under my belt but with a new place smaller grow area will be doing auto's under some CFL, doing alot of reading and I'm most deffinetly subbing for this grow.Take a bow my friend i really hope mine are going to look like that...peace

You're right! But only as a thumbnail. The one of the SD2 from the same angle has even more similarities.

Thanks for the welcome my friend...Just trying to plan my grow space and was just wondering if you have any tips for using cfl bulbs I understand that they don't penetrate more that 3" approx how can you compansate without tieing down the auto...I have bought a 250w Cfl with reflector and will be doing a perpetual grow so there will be no more than 3 plants in the space at the one time I'm going to buy a second 250w in a few weeks as im leaving a gap of 4 weeks between each plant...Will i need to add side lighting with the 2x250w or do you think that will be suffiecent for 3 pineapple express giving that they grow to about 18 inches..Cheers for any advice man greatly appreciated and looking forward to the next update on your girls..peace

Hey Resin,side lighting is always a good option with CFLs because of the penetration issues you have with them. I do lots of leaf tucking to help penetration. I have no idea how big your space is, but assuming you have a tent or closet or something about that size, those 500w will help you to some fine PE buds. It'll do three plants good. In a small space, those 500 CFL watts are going to be too hot, most likely.

I have a closet about metre high and meter wide but just less than a half a meter deep I Have a extraction fan that will be running with a passive intake the closet is next to a window which will help a lot as I'll leave it open all day. I have a very powerful fan with a speed controller left over from my last grow with a 400w hps...Im going to run the whole system for a few days once I have it set up to check temps and humdity before I put any seedlings in there learned my lesson before with new enviroments...I'm going to fit one cfl to each side of the plants but will wait and see how the first plant reacts under the 500w first..Do you start off with the blue spectrum at the start and then switch over once flower has started Noods or do you provide both spectrums to your ladies through out the grow once again thanks for the advice man really appreciate it...

In my book that's a small space. Good that you have a strong fan because you will definitely need to suck a lot of hot air out of there.

Starting with blue is correct. Then, when they start flowering, add some red. From all of my 500 and however many watts, only 125 are red. That's the way I do it, others will say that you need much more red during flowering, which is theoretically correct, but autos kick ass from start to finish under blue too.

Setting up your gear and test running BEFORE you start is the best idea I've heard this week. :thumbs: You have the time, so do it.

Resin, I do not mind you asking for advice and all that here in my thread one bit. BUT, start your own thread! More people will see what you have going on and you'll get much more input.
Lots of brilliant minds are out there in the forum and most of them are very helpful and talkative and none of them are bad guys. (At least not openly... :smoke
