Grow Mediums Storing Kind Soil

[Heavily Medicated]

I just received my five pound bag of Kind Soil. It came in an air tight sealed plastic bag. Obviously this will cause anaerobic conditions inside the bag. If I am not going to use the Kind Soil for a couple weeks, should I open the bag so it can breath, or will it be ok sealed in the bag?

Store it like you would any living mix. like I like to do personally? i like to break it all up,put it all in a bin with a lid on it.NOT air tight.tight but take it off every few days to breath and mix it if it smells rancid,but once it starts to breath,it'll mellow some. but thats what I do. I did keep one in the bag for a little while now and it smelled mild actually. soo I think it was a mild batch potentially. kinda interesting actually since most smell really rich. but thats my guess man, and what I would do if your going to be storing it for a little bit. more than a cpl weeks imo.

I actually emailed kindsoil about this before.
They said

A cool dark place like a basement.
Never in a airtight container.
If for over a month poke a few extra holes in the bag to allow it to breath more.

So like what eyes said.

Hmm I have a bag in my shed been there a couple weeks still in bag they shipped it in you think it's worthless now?

worthless?doubt it.I would personally open it up. break it up,and make sure the moisture level is good and put in a regular small tote or similar container. the less room there is in the container,the more its gonna have to breath.

After you open the bag, you know why it's air tight. That is some smell. I'm sure the ;post office would have a problem if it weren't sealed up tight. LMAO

That's hilarious! My same reaction! Most foul smelling stuff I have ever had in my grow space lol! Works though!

It still smelled in the bag through the shipping container. Smells like booboo in a bag thsts why it got put in the shed. Hope it fades in a few days. I'm gonna open it up and let it breath tomorrow. I expect my beans in soon.
