:smoking: HM I spoke with KS Phil about this before too-- ditto Smorf! .. and you're right, I had a bag that sat too long sealed, and when I opened it, there was some mild ammonia stank... no doubt, the soil herd is all but dead by then, plus it's on the dry side too,... I think EoF has the best solution for this, plus it will lose much of the dead seal carcass aroma after a couple days of breathing thank gawd!

My last grow I used kind soil that had been in its original bags in a closet in the garage for 3 months. I put it in the pots wet it and let it sit overnight. Then I added the roots organic and planted had no issues

Ive had some in the original shipping box in the garage for a month. Me and the wife cleaned out the garage last week and I couldn't for the life of me figure out where the dead skunks ass was hiding. Low and behold, the stuff was wreaking through the box. I opened it up, dumped it in a tote and sprinkled some mycos on it witha little mysting of water and let it sit. I'll get around to using it this month, when I put up a 3 x 3 tent.
