New Grower Sub Irrigation SIP and top dressing - any tips? Mulching?

Is top dressing effective when watering from the bottom up with SIP? Any tips on the best way to do this? I have EWC and composted manure I can use.

I was thinking I would remove pots from the SIP res and top dress and a partial watering, then let it sit and drain runoff if any, then put back on top of the SIP res.

And is mulch an effective thing to do with top dressing and especially with sub irrigation bottom up watering?
