Howdy all
I've been mucking around my grow tent trying to get the temps downs like crazy! I do have central air in my house but the vents are in the ceiling. Do they make a covering that would fit over exitsing cut out where the vent diffuser is now where I could put the 6" ducting straight from the ceiling vent to the tent?you know what I mean? . Included is pic...

Another idea to help with cooling? Thoughts? Can't get temps below 86

I'm to the point am bout to say screw it and get a vortex 6" inline fan..l toughts or save money and buy another one of those lighthouse 6" duct fans?!?$
Puff puff pass...

I'm missing something... actually, a few things... Do you have other lighting in the cab besides the LED? How big is your cab? We should be able to get the temp in your cab down to about 5 degrees above your room temp with a good inline fan and some smaller ones for ventilation inside the cab.

I agree, heat shouldn't be an issue with LEDs. Those duct fans just don't move enough air. I'd suggest replacing it with an in line.

Regarding the A/C vent, yes they make fittings that go from rectangle to 4 or 6". You might not find them in the big box stores, but a good plumbing and heating house should have them. But again, a good in line fan should take care of it.

Cheapest and best place to buy a 6" vortex inline... From the research I've done they seem ti be the best inline to get? Or no?

And yes with just the led running temps are great but also have ontop of the led a 400watt hid air cooled light In there... Have gotten temp to 86 degrees with light at 75% (300watt) but that's as lows as it will go....

do you have airflow through the HPS fixture...if so..does the inlet air come from the heated air at the top of the tent...or are you pulling in room temp air to cool the fixture?
next: is the exhaust fan sucking in the sides of the tent, when the tent is zipped closed?

airflow and air-exchange is key to temp control...move the cool air into the tent..and exhaust it through the light fixture with enough force to pull in the tent material...and then all you will need is a circulating/oscillating fan to move the air over and through the plants.
