Title say's it all really :( This is my first grow and didnt expect it to get this far so planted it with the just the bare essentials. 250w Duel spectrum HPS, Tent, filter fan etc, Compost with added John Innes, distilled water every few days and some VitaLink Bloom nutes.

IT was dark green 7 healthy a few days ago but since the last water/nute feed the plant's leaves are turning yellow at a rapid rate.

Is this more likely too many nutes or is the compost running out of feed for the plant? these are the two things i assume are causing it as when i was just using water it was a rich dark green colour.

Any help appreciated and many thanks.

It is not near the end yet. You have a ways to go and a lot of weight to gain! Generally when that happens to me I am running out of N. But nobody here will tell you to add nitrogen during flowering. A compost tea would probably be one of the best methods for you. It may also be some kind of lock out of your nutrients. Someone with more Autoflower experience may be able to pinpoint it. Some things we need to know is the ph of your water, in and out. And if you are letting her dry out completely between waterings. Best of luck, she's a beauty just a little yellow!

hey Ricky!

big looking plant you have got there!

i recently had some similar yellowing problems, just as you are describing. for me it turned out to be a pH problem. therefore most likely causing a lockout situation.

but as mallo said, you're going to have to tell us more details to accurately diagnose the problem. also it might be worth posting it in the "hospital/infirmary for sick plants" forum, as there is always experienced people there willing to help.

best of luck, i hope you plant gets better!

peace,

How old is your plant? Is it reaching the end of its life? This post on "when to harvest" describes it. Also this "lifecycle."

It was planted around the 1st Dec, it is a rough estimate as i know for sure the tent was empty and seed had just arrived on the 23rd Nov. I left it a couple days before germinating/planting as i was concerned about having my tent in a large cupboard. I figure with germ times etc it should be around the 1st.

I know it's probably an awful thing not knowing the exact age but i just planted it & hoped for the best.

Thanks for the reply :)

Thank you kindly :) I was unaware of a sick bay here on the site so thanks for that too.

Shamefully enough i am yet to buy a PH tester so i'm guessing i've been very lucky thus far as my previous pictures (dated roughly 2 weeks ago) show the plant a really rich dark green colour so must have just fluked the PH up until then.

I shall update the post when i know more and thanks again for the reply :)

i am yet to buy a PH tester

In your first post you said the plant was green when you fed it just water. It sounded like this started when you added nutes to the water. That might point to ph. Nutes tend to lower the ph. You might have been lucky with the ph of your water, but the nutes have thrown it off.

I think a PH meter is mandatory. Unfortunately, these meters aren't low maintenance. If you get a meter without calibration, KCl (pot. chloride) storage and probe cleaning solutions you'll probably have a meter that doesn't work after 1-2 months. That's 3 solutions you have to buy which can cost more than the meter.

I've had good luck with this $8 US meter. But, I think my regular use of storage solution (and cleaning the probe once so far) has contributed to that.

That's the exact Meter i added to my eBay watchlist last night :D most were from china but found a UK seller for me, i also saw another which you leave in the soil at all times. But i would say you're probably spot on with the nute theory.I always boil the water and let it cool but the last few waters i did add the bloom, slowly creeping the dose each time.

I did wonder if i had to feed it anything else this late on? i got some Westlands plant fertiliser for fruit/flower bloom which i'm yet to use as i'm unsure if i need it, and some fish blood & blone meal stuff but really not to keen on the scent of that one.
