Hey guys so I am looking for 4 pieces CREE CXB3590 COB to support my 600w hps that's in the middle of my 1.2m sqm grow room.

I would like the 4 COBS to be stand alones, I drew up a diagram.

My question is could they all be connected to one driver even though they're distant from each other? I never really dug in on how they're assembled.
And what's the wattage I'm looking at for each cob? I understood they work best @ ~80w is that correct?

As well if anyone could link me with trusted alibaba sellers, id love that.

thank you guys

80 watts is about the max I would drive a single cob.

You can go higher, but most heat sinks are rated for 70 watts or less.

You could use a single driver but there will need to be wires going from one cob to the next. In your diagram this would form a square around the hps.

You could do something like this with a frame where the cobs are not standalone, but share a driver:

Or you could get cobs that each have their own driver, but that's going to cost a bit more.

You could do a middle road and build 2 frames that each hold 2 cobs. Then you could use either 1 or 2 drivers.

Thank you very much Animatey matey

I'm gonna go for 50 watters. so 600w hps + 200w cob should really boost my yields.

If you don’t need the HPS for heat then ditch that and go all COBs

That's out of budget for me right now matey and yes I will use the HPS for heat at winter so im not in a rush as well..
Hopefully next summer I'll upgrade to a 240w QB surrounded by the 200w COBs, maybe 480 QB and 200 COB.. who knows :)
