Hi all , Look I have just ordered some Dark Devil seeds for my next grow , the main reason is for the colour ,so can any one advice me please on the best way to get the max colour from these plants , I have a air con in my grow room and 2 x 600 watt Led lights , oh , and any other tips to grow them .

Thanks Hecno

Hecno,

that is a damn fine question. I grew DD myself, and it is not the best plant as far as yield is concerned. It can best be described as tall, thin and a bit spindly. Don't expect a fat bushy plant. But, the smoke is good and the colour is way cool.
But to answer the question regarding getting the best colour - don't know. Sorry. Anyone ???

eP.

My DD is pretty fat and bushy. As far as color I'm pretty sure it's strictly genetic.

DarK Devil 80% will naturally colour up.
To increase their colour you will want a 10C temp drop from the lights on temp [so if you are 27C Lights on ,then 17C/16C will be good, but anything past 10C should be avoided!}, which will increase chlorophyll degradation and so the anthrocyanins become prevalent in the leaves colour palate.
Antrocyanins are red and purple pigment which naturally occur in the leaves, higher sugar levels will produce deeper levels of colour.
Start to reduce your temp in the last couple of weeks.

Seasol at recommended levels will bring out the pigments available. My understanding is that there are green and red/purple phenos.

  • Red from the Purple Kush parent
  • Green from the Big Devil parent that has Jack Herer lineage

So two main phenos

  • Sativa from Jack Herer
  • Indica from Kush

I bought some seeds as I was keen to have red plant in my collection but since then the green jack herer pheno is of more interest to me.
My next grow is Dark Devil and I want to cross with KVS to get some seeds, then later Bx with Dark Devil again.
