Lighting Switching from 24/0 to 18/6 or 20/4

Hi All,
I needs some advice from the more experienced growers out there. This is just my 4th grow and the others have been relatively successful. I'm currently growing 2 plants under 400 watts of CFL's. One Hobbit Auto and the other is A Royal Queen Dwarf. They are about 3 weeks old.
My question is can i switch from 24/0 lighting to something else like 18/6 or 24/0??

Is this even possible to do? And would it be beneficial to me if i did change now?

Any advise here would be greatly appreciated.

you have more grows then me :smokebuds:so with that said i run my lab on 20\4 all the way and i think personally that 4 hours rest is good unless the breeder says different

Have you ever changed your lighting after a few weeks or have you always kept it at 18/6. Did you ever hear of anybody changing their lighting?

Good question, I will be intrested ro hear peoples opinions on this one, I am running at 24/0 after going on the information I read on 'another forum', basically it said autos do not need a dark period as they do their Co2 uptake in the light, not in the dark as is the case with photo strains.
My plants are doing very well but would they benefit from a 4 hour dark period ?
I will take the advice of the seasoned growers over that of 'the other forum'

20/4 is good. I think (imho) that all plants need a resting period to use the left-over sugars and energy from photosynthesis. Some studies even suggest that roots and leaves grow faster during this "resting" period.


18/6 isn't that good imo. 20/4 is best.

I have always heard 20/4 was best for autos, but I'm no expert and my first auto seed hasn't broke ground yet

Hi buddy, could I ask you reason for dropping the light hours in those last few weeks and what is the benefit of the UVB ?
Further to that, what type of bulb and what wattage ? I have heard the odd snippet of information about the pros of UVB but never actually spoke to someone that uses one.

I've done six grows with CFL, changing the schedule doesn't hurt them but plants benefit from the hours of darkness.

I've noticed no difference between 18/6 and 20/4 so i now stick with 18/6 as it's cheaper.
