Lighting T5 questions

Hi guys,

I currently use a cfl 150w for my grow. New bulbs got recently.

I have come across this recently and wondered how many would you say I would need for a decent yield?

I will be dropping some sweet cream caramels from sweet seeds.

Gurus will help but I feel like ive heard 80w min a plant. 150w hps are cheap eh. Filled in with cfls its hard to beat. Yield numbers. Good question, isn't it so dependent on too many factors? Good luck ill be watching. Love CFL grows. I got 150w cfl on one photo plant.

Your heading says t-5 but you talk about cfls. What is your question?

t5's are outstanding for veg , dont let the plants touch em though , they do get hot to touch even though they dont overly add to the heat of your room , they do run hotter then what manufacturers let on

they also imho dont last as long as advertised , not at 100% output at least , hell prolly not even 75% , i added a new one to my room a while back and couldnt believe how much brighter it was from the one beside it that was only 2 months old

I agree completely bob. I think they are good on their own for about 1/4th of recommended hours, in conjunction with other new bulbs maybe one half of recommended hours.
I really like them for seedlings and veg.

I think there great for seedlings and veg have one running for 2 of mine at the mo, im not sure how many you would need to get a decent yield though.
