Indoor Tent ventilation

Whom ever said,

Also they said to lay iton the floor of the tent and not worry about overhead heat.

Is full of dooo-dy.. It provides cross ventilation and is needed....

Jump in on this,

I am looking for a set up with fan speed and temperature control already built in! My main issue is noise as I will be sleeping in the same room. I like the idea of being able to trim the fan down low and set a temperature to get the tent dialed in rather then having a fan going full throttle all the time.

Any ideas>?

Freiya, how's the heat in your tent? Putting the fan/filter at the top pulls out the heat that rises up there. If you have it drawing air from the floor, it's removing fresh, cool air that has just been sucked into the tent. It can work, but it's not ideal. I have used zip ties hooked together to hang a filter/fan and it worked fine. An even easier option is using tie down straps like you'd put on a trailer or truck bed. Having a second set of hands is very useful, though I usually do it myself and I haven't broken anything yet. :smoke:

They make yo yo straps for hanging stuff. Up top for sure. You want the heat in the canapy to go away. I'm with Andy on this one.

I don't know of anything affordable with a built-in thermostat. There are some fairly cheap models for duct booster fans like you'd use with an HVAC system, but none of those seemed to suit my needs based on the reviews. Getting into the environmental controls stuff for grow spaces can get real expensive real quick. But it's easy enough to just use a thermometer and fan speed controller to get the temp dialed in for your tent. I rarely adjust mine anymore unless I have a significant change in the ambient temps outside the tent.

My memory is toast with all the people I talk to on AFN but someone here just bought one (24 x 48 x 60) and said they were pleasantly surprised by the quality and stitching....

Lemme try to find it....

HERE ...:)...a thread you posted in ;)

I post alot some days, ditto on the memory lol! Thanks for the link!

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll go ahead and try to hang it using zip ties. The temp in my tent during the day is pretty consistent at 84f but I bet it's at least 85f at canopy level. I currently have a small fan sitting outside of the tent blowing air into the intake vent. My 6 inch booster fan is at the top sucking air out. I don't think my booster fan is doing a good job though. I'm hoping when I buy a 4 inch inline fan my temps will drop down to 80f at least. The temps don't seem to be bothering the plants very much, but I want some piece of mind and I know I will need a filter soon.

just got the 6 inch version of that blower and filter for a back up. i will say, it is huge. i dont know how big the 4 inch is so all im sayin is be prepared if you have a small space for it.
an after thought to that statement: im not sayin its not nice, i put them together and turned it on with no fan speed controller and it was nice and smooth and move a ton of air.

I was debating getting a filter from ventech but I think I'm going to go with the 4x12 filter from phat.

I would love to hear some input from people who have bought a filter from ventech. I'd much rather spend 42$ instead of the 65$ the phat filter will cost me.
