for me test-buds are often a byproduct.
outdoor here budrot is a big issue. so often late flower I will find some rot while inspecting the buds, so I cut it away. often there's some good bud tht comes off because it's above a bad spot.
so after throwing away the rot, the good bud goes into the drying space.
then I also get to judge how bad it would be for the quality if the rot spreads too much and I'm forced to harvest within a few days.
usually I test it just before it would be smokable dry, just 2-3 days of drying is enough, since I put it in the vaporizer.
even completely undried buds, straight from the plant, work in a vaporizer if you really need to test it.
