hey all,
Hope it’s been a pleasant Saturday and all the ladies are happy and green. Started my first autoflower grow a few weeks ago and I can say it’s a bit trickier than my regular photos. Found this awesome community and finally joined. There is so much info on here and you all seem to really have it figured out. I look forward to learning from all the experienced auto growers here and make the best out of what I’ve got. I picked up some Critical Purple seeds from growers choice germinated all five and only had two girls come out of the bunch which surprised me. Out of all the photos I’ve ever had I can’t remember not getting a girl to sprout. Non the less I have two girls that are in week 8 and week 6 and I can’t complain really. Has anyone had experience with growerschoice? Some info would be much welcomed. Hope the rest of your day goes well all.

Hey man, welcome to AFN. I grow autos just like photos except I dont have to adjust my light schedule lol. Your girls look good under those t5's, did you only lst them?

hi and welcome :pass:welcome to autoflowers.a few subtle differences in autos from photos, once you got that dialed in the its wee buns.should be no problem for an experienced grower as yourself.shame about the germ rate.looking happy under t5's? not so well up on lights sorry.growerschoice rings a bell, probably just from utube.
good luck.
:pighug:

Thanks for the welcome guys! Yes only lst. Didn’t want to stress them out. Heard too many bad things about them stunting if there is too much done as far as training. They seem to be quite happy with the t5s and the cheapo supliment led strips. Have a few photos in the back that are about a week old that I’m trying to implement into the space but we will see how that all goes.

Hi pal,

auto's are actually quite resilient and can recover from mild abuse better than photo's in my humble opinion. You will do fine, I just know you will. Keep in touch and have a fat harvest my friend.

eP.

I’m glad to hear that they are up to a bit of abuse just don’t know how much I can do to them. I’m pretty excited to have these girls seed and hopefully get a few more good plants for the next go. I love the fact that I don’t have to turn off the lights! I think I’ll start a grow log on the next go around since I’m so close to the end for these ones. Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome!

Autos are much more hardy than you've been led to believe. Some of us here delight in abusing an auto now and then just to prove it lol! How much they will tolerate is strain dependent. But most can be topped or fimmed at least once etc. As you grow them and poke around here on afn, you'll be amazed at what can be done with autos!

I just grew out a royal queen seeds northern lights that went to day 120 something... I topped her about 3 or 4 times and super cropped the shit out of her and she still produced a ton of buds. I'm still chopping down and trimming her. So far ive cut about 2/3 and already have 113 grams curing with 1/3 still to chop down.

Usually if I have a germination problem (it's rare) it's bad seed. I soak and then straight to dirt.
Are you growing in soil? Autos can be very sensitive to "hot" soils, that a photo wouldn't bat an eye at.
