I'm fielding loads of q's about burping those jars.

What say you?

Do you burp?
How often?
For how long do you burp each time?
How many days will you burp?

I do burp my jars. I like to keep a mini hygrometer in the jar.
Humidity determines how much. If its on the high side 63-65 i burp daily for an hour or so. To help lower it.

I burp twice a day for 3 days after putting bud in a jar. Then I'll but once a day for another 5 days. After those 8 days I throw a boveda in and that's all she wrote.

Normally I burp once per day with Boveda pack. Lately I've doing it for a month or so. It's a relatively quick process for me. I don't leave jars open for 5 or 10 minutes.

I put all my jars in a beer (bud?) cooler open with boveda packs. I then open the cooler and use it fan fresh air in and close it to continue the cure. Allows me to burp a lot of jars without having to open manually. If I only have a few jars then I keep them in the cooler but open them individually. I do this for about a month daily, 2 a day for the begining until I see humidity around 62% then just once a day.
