Mephisto Genetics The Daily Gram

I'm being a little facetious here, I have one that I germinated, as I always do, the Mephistio method that had a very small tap root starting when I put it in soil but has not thrived as the other five that I Started at the same time. I have one in the moist tp in the cd case inside my tent that will take the place of the DG that hasn't thrived. I am in no way implying that there is something wrong with the seeds - let's be very clear about that. I have a current grow going, small compared to everybody else but it's my hobby and I throughly enjoy it, I posted it in the Mephisto section so you can have a look. All of my grows have involved Mephisto gear and I am sold on them as a company and the product.

No doubt.. you seem much more experienced than I am. I will say this about the Mephisto method: my seeds would almost never get a tap root in the tp/DVD. Maybe I kept it too wet or too dry or not warm enough, or too warm. I don't know. That's why I went to 24 hours in a shot glass until they sink upon being tapped, and then straight into a constantly moist (not soaked) soil. Not going back! I figure the toilet paper is trying to simulate soil, so why not just put it into the soil.

Sorry I meant to reply yesterday but forgot to add it! When I first started this little hobby I contacted Mitch because I was having germination problems, he was very kind and offered up his method, I tried and it has worked 100% since I started using it. I sincerely believe that using a spray bottle to moisten the tp is the trick. In my mind, I would just put the seed in good soil and call it a day - just like nature but in a controlled environment; however, since I had issues and somebody way more experienced than I shared their method with me and it worked, I don't have the guts to try any other way right now! I guess watching the seed grow a tail is satisfying to the human mind so we try to emulate Mother Nature! Anyway, all is good - my DG showed her head but I still planted another in the same pot so I guess I have Double Grape Squared! Cheers!
