harvested my 1st grow the other day, a rhino ryder. It seemed pretty good to me, cut off all the leaves and hung it up to dry.
Then I brought in the auto white widow yesterday. The wife is gone so I put it in my garage. Today, I noticed whenever I opened the garage door their was a very, very strong odor.
Wife will be home tomorrow, so I brought the widow in the house to prepare it for hanging. Man, the odor is unbelievable. This is my 1st grow and I have not smoked any weed for ages, but unless I screw up the drying and cure, this is going to be some awesome stuff.
Just sitting here trimming it it tastes like I have eaten it - the taste is on my lips and in my mouth......it is actually almost sickening.
This thing is just dripping with resin. On the rhino ryder, I only had to clean the scissors off a couple of times during the entire trim.
With the widow, I have a hard time getting thru one big bud or a couple tiny ones. The only bad thing is it looks like I did lose a few buds to an insect (same with the rhino). I have the neem oil but never got around to using it. I have had some of the buds all brown and dead. I killed some type of bug, I think it was a weird looking spider. Not sure because as soon as I saw it I snapped it with the scissors. It had a really large abdomen, is all i really noticed before I killed it (it startled me actually)
But as this is for personal use, is not a big deal as I am pretty sure this is going to be some pretty awesome stuff.
I did get lazy with the scissors on one bud, trying to get the tiniest of the sugar leaves and ended up cutting off the bud.........I will either quick dry it or more then likely just throw it in with the sugar leaves - I plan on making a tincture with everclear as I have some extra everclear left over from a mushroom extract experiment.
My humidipaks came in the mail today so I will have those ready.
Drying may be a problem tho. The wife is not keen on this so I will have to hand them either outside or in the garage. The garage is soooooooo humid so outside may be better. I will have to do some more research.
But man, this smell is something. I didn;t know you could actually taste it. It is like I just grabbed a handful of the buds and started chewing on them.
Hope it is good as the smell.......
