yeah get cal mag and up that feed to 1.2 ec, i know i said 1.0 in my previous post but i was airing on the side of caution cause i didnt know your background ec, you have the same background ec as me

1.2 ec of formulex and 60ml or rhizotonic and if you get a cal/mag suppliment run that at 6ml per res change and you should be good to grow

i keep the plants on formulex for the 1st 2 weeks with 60ml of rhizo on the 3rd week drop the rhizo down to 30ml and switch them to aqua vega @ 1.0ec, or you can keep them on formulex for a 3rd week if you want

obviously your the grower so you get to choose how you wanna go about feeding your plants im just giving you some freindly advice :D

good luck with the grow and if you need any help dont be afraid to ask

I'm on it! Thanks mate.

0.4 ec is sucky as a starting point :( i should point out that when my plants got burnt at that size i was using canna start. I switched to formulex later on and they could handle that at higher levels. My starting EC is 0.1, with formulex i was running at 0.8 without problems.

Right guys I'll up the feed tonight when I get home. My local store doesn't stock sensi cal so i've ordered it off line I'll just have to sit tight and it and add it when it turns up in the next couple of days.

As I won't be doing my update tonight as scheduled I'll still make sure I get pics of the light up for those who were curious.

Thanks

Hi Guys

Light pics as promised. Unfortunately the photo with the light on is pretty rubbish, is a better way to take a pic so you can see the colour of the leds? Here are the pics anyway. You can get full info here; http://budmaster-ledgrowlights.com

Hi Guys

Sorry for my lack of updates but I've been really busy over the past week with being away for a wedding. Before I left I added the cal mag and upped the feed as Seymour suggested but the plants have only continued to deteriorate. This is really frustrating me now every time I grow the same thing happens. I'm still convinced the first time was the light as when I grew the plants covered by a plastic container they grew fine until I took it off. Now I'm only running the Budmaster at a third of the power and 1.2 meters above the plants. Something is clearly wrong but nothing seems to work! I've checked my ph meter in a buffer solution and it comes up spot on, not really sure how I can test my ec meter. Take a look at the pics and if anyone can help please do!

Hi greenie. Sorry to hear of your woes. Even good growers can struggle to get DWC to sing for them, with pH and EC being the two main areas of difficulties. Is there any way you can calibrate/check your meters ? Could the local water supply be an unusual pH? (google might even be able to help there)

The plants does look a bit 'bleached' but that could be a nutrient issue as much as light bleaching. One alternative might be to buy a bag of coco and have a go at a coco grow just to compare/contrast how you get on versus the DWC. Some people manage with just a syringe to prepere the nutrient feeds. Slowly building up feed concentrations from eg 2 mls per litre(of water) to 3 mls per litre, checking the leaves for signs of over feeding. Just an idea (maybe not a good one)

whatever happens good luck with it

DPT has great advice, man. That looks sorta like bleaching to me, as well as ph problems. Matter of fact, I have had plants that look just like that. I think DPT has the best ideas. Calibrate and try and get that ph in line. Not sure about that light, I would think 1.2 meters away is plenty. But if that doesn't work out I suggest having your hand at soilless like coco or semi-soilless like Promix, or just go soil. These ways are generally easier for new growers. Good luck man.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've checked my ph metre in a buffer solution and it seems to be perfect. I'll have to see if my ex pen is ok. I have some crappy seeds I want to run one more experiment on. If all still goes wrong I might give coco a go.
