looks ok, glad you found the problem. I've never opened mine. I plan to though, I want to see if the fans need cleaning.

My 150W UFO has an actual draw of 37W.
Is there something abnormal causing this or have I been ripped off? :no:
EDIT: It seems the loose wire has a lot to do with the power (corrected it and the thing now draws 45W). Being a lazy fcuk, I used epoxy to keep it in place. Seems like it needs a proper soldering. Should've been obvious... :slaps:

A 150W UFO should be more like 80-90W actual, so if you're only getting 45W there is something wrong there...

I'm going nuts over this thing.
I soldered it as best I could (wasn't pretty) and the power consumption was at 45W, but dropped shortly down to 40. Unplugged and plugged in again for the same result.
I put it back together and now it's 33-35W. The fan alone is whopping 5 watts which means I don't even have double the light I had previously.
I asked the seller to ship me a new transformer box that ideally allows for a bigger power consumption. Waiting for a response.
Whatever happens I'm going to start the grow like this and hopefully get some more juice along the way if I'll get what I asked for.

I decided to swap the noisier fan (which might in fact be noisier than the TD-silent I got for exhaust) for the fan I had as an exhaust during my last grow. Was a good idea and all, only I was pissed off and drunk so I botched it so that I cannot use the original setup anymore.
The silent PC fan didn't work with the UFO's power supply for some reason. I screwed it on and led the wiring through the exhaust holes on the side. I have to use an external DC adapter now but damn if it wasn't worth it; the UFO is now 98% silent and you really have be close to hear it. And with the weak light it still doesn't seem like it will burn down the house anytime soon.

How are you measuring draw? Do you have a Killawatt meter? ( they are great for checking power consumption of home appliances ) Otherwise, something is funky. A 150 watt should be drawing 90-100 watts. If all the LEDS are lit though, and very bright, you may have a problem with you measurement

The meter I'm using seemingly displays correct wattages for everything else so I'm thinking it really is only 34W.
The LEDs are all lit and very bright. I have to wear sunglasses to work with it while lit and I still have spots in my vision.
And they aren't shitty sunglasses either
