Extraction Tincture with vodka

Hi friends
I found recipe for a cannabis liquid with vodka and I want to know if anybody made it and got experience?

Decrap the trim and grind it but not to small.

100 g trim on 0,5 l vodka.

For 7 days in the freezer.

Shaked twice a day.

After that I would have a tincture which should be very potent, a few drops would be enough to get high.


What do you guys think?

Get the highest percentage alcohol - this means minimum water in there. I've tried with "vodka" which is 40% alcohol... Not even comparable to 95% alcohol.

Vodka will work (although higher proof works better :smoking
Doing a quick wash with vodka doesn't extract well, but with a 7 day soak with shaking every day will get most out of your material you can.

For your tincture are you going to evaporate any of the alcohol off? Or use the tincture as is?
Without evaporating any alcohol off, you are better off using vodka because the higher proof alcohols would burn your mouth too much to allow lingual dosing.

Didn't saw your post sorry. Thanks for your input I will use vodka because it's not easy to get 95% alcohol.

Root, let me know your thoughts on this idea. I thought about doing a cold tincture for 1-2 weeks, then run it through my MBM2. I heard that heated method is better, so thought if did both I could get the benefit of both. Or would that be redundant?

I make lots of tincture using MBM on the "No Heat" setting.
I own 2 MBMs, and one of them allows alcohol boil off, even at 130 F, because the base heating element gets much, much hotter than 130 F, and I've scorched herb before.
After decarb (240 F for 40 min), additional heat can degrade thc. See http://www.ardentcannabis.com/education/decarboxylation-myths (will try to sell you an excellent device that I also own 2 of)
MBM's churning action can extract nearly 100% of the medicine over several 8 hour runs on No Heat, maybe more time when not using EC190.

Ok, your someone i like to talk to about this. I habe had this machine for a few year but only used it a few times. How does it burn off alcohol, and which 1? You have the decarb machine? If so, how does it work? I want one. Back to mbm, haven't looked into the alcohol tried vg but messy and decarb didn't work. Do you use heat, how does it work if no heat? Don't want to blow up for real of it used heat would it blow up? I assumed it used heat??? But don't know yet. Heard everclear was the best to use so was gonna use that. Can I use something weaker but still get as much as I can out?
