New Grower To flush DWC Organic grow or not

If you are growing Organic in DWC do you have to Flush before harvest or is it just a preference?

I flush in DWC with H2O for the last 24-48 hours
Having said that, I am not positive there is a measurable benefit.
I have pulled big tester buds off a plant and when dried properly burn just as well and taste just as good as the flushed bud.
The main reason I do it is for the comfort or peace of mind of those people with medical concerns that may find themselves with access to my material.
