Hello
So over 50 days in and its gotten over crowed in my small grow space. My question here is can I remove one of the plants from the DWC and not do any harm to the remaining plants?
The root mass is amazing filling almost the whole container. There will be no separating the roots impossible! My fear is if I cut the roots away, will those roots now that they are not connected to the plants begin to die then break down in the DWC causing rot and or water problems? The only reason why I would want to remove one of the plants is to open up the remaining plants to get light down to the flowers witch has just begun. I know one thing in the future there will only be 1 plant per container and no more than 2 plants in my small grow space. Thanks in advance!

How many plants per container and how many gallons/ltrs. Recirculating or just dwc?? I would just keep plants in container and train plant( LST Defoliation, etc. ) There are many good articles on this site for these techniques. Pictures of plants would help to answer this question properly. Cheers

I agree, you're going to do more damage by messing with the roots or just cutting a plant out. You can exfoliate first then lst or super crop to let more light in. We can't really assess with just words. Too many variables

The plant you are thinking about removing is probably sucking up the same amount of light as it would free up for the other plants.
If that's true, nothing would be gained by removing the plant, unless its fruit is less desirable.

212.JPG At this point I feel like they are out of control. It was a proof of concept to see if I could even grow with the small area I had. The condition must be ok because they are doing well so far. Had no choice but to move them into a 2x2 tent with correct ventilation.
I will be prepared better for the next attempt.
Current situation

@Newbegro Good Morning Nothing wrong with plants They are Happy. Just as time goes on start to defoliate as plant gets bushy. Don't be afraid to clip leaves, pull branches down an tie in place. Clean up lower growth Etc. You have a good root system already. Just maintain and watch your rese Bucket Water temps and ppms ( EC) Keep doing what you are doing. If you run in to anything just ask questions Cheers
