..pardon the delay, mate,.... Well, you did the first step right, flushing,... you can use regular tap water for that, in fact it's better, since it has buffering minerals in it, unlike DI,... also, the last pour through during flush should have 1/4 strength nute's + Ca-Mg in it, to replenish what was stripped away,... 5.4 is much better, but getting to around 6 is best, and that's going to take some pH up product in your water and nute's especially; nutrient solutions tend to be acidic, even organic ones! What's your tap water like? Do you know how hard it is (ppm's), and if it's chlorinated? Using it will help, and it'll keep it's pH better that DI or RO water, again, because those have no buffering minerals (CaCO3) in them, so the pH will swing wildly from even small inputs, and be unstable,... Try to get your water and nute' solutions up to 7.0, and consider getting an in-soil pH probe, like the Accurate 8; run-off testing makes you saturate your medium, something the roots dislike! Until then though, you'll need to test pH on occasion to see if your corrections are taking hold,....
