Lighting TOPled The Manual.

3"inches is fine with a CFL or fluorescent. an LED however, at that height can stop upward grow. When I first used mine, I had plants with node spacing of maybe 3/8 of an inch, I figure they were trying to not get closer to the light! I shoulda taken a pic, the plant was at the 5th node and 3 " high! Amazing the coping mechanisms they have.
 
Nothing has stopped my fricking thing from growing upwards! :)

That must be bleaching the tops. Mine were further away than that and the tips have turned white.

These two directly under the panels are showing a bit of bleaching but they've been close for weeks now so not too bad considering.

OK LES BOYS. I think I got this shit covered. Best of both worlds. A 1200w led and a 600w hps blasting away. Fuck yeh. yeh. right. hmmmmm.. feels good right. Wait, what?
