New Grower Topping Autos...

I too say the Top Cola Bud is the Best on the plant...

I usually try to bend it over but sometimes the snap....
Topping autos isnt the best idea ...
They still perform but added time will be needed

I agree with you there man. I thought about it for a long time before I snipped. Like I said tho, just a little experiment.

I have a PE that I topped and is now 33 days old. She showed her lady parts Friday.

I bet if you hadn't topped her she would have sexed a lot sooner, probably by day 25 at the latest. That's been my experience with topping. It delays the plant for at least a week while it recovers from the topping and in the end, produces about the same amount of bud, so no real benefit.

Man I really don't know but I believe it really wouldn't matter if I topped her or not. She is in a himpy and every time I grow in a hempy bucket it seems like every thing takes longer. Compared to my soil grows and also my notes, things seem to take 2 1/2 to 3 weeks longer in hempys and going by other grow journals for info as well.. Maybe I'm slow to catch on but I think any thing hydro takes longer. Don't school me to bad with this.

works great for me. I never lose any time. no stunting on my plants. take a look at my last few grows. but again that's just me. will update my blue diesel soon...TRUST ME she no lose no time

You know one time I was thinking maybe I was having some problems with my feeding, maybe not enough nutes to get things going. My soil grows are always thicker leaves and stouter plants and less time. If you look at past posts I have had a few problems doing hempys. Hydro might not be for me..

Thats surprising. I've not done hempy yet but I'm going to start a hempy bucket within the next week or two. After doing a lot of reading on them they seem pretty simple in comparison to DWC for example. Hempy is definitely supposed to be faster than soil. How do you feed in hempy? something like feed - feed - water repeat? what medium are you using for your buckets?

You might have ran into a problem that I've read about. I don't remember the name of it though. Apparently the roots never reach the res at the bottom of the hempy bucket. Instead they reach the top of the bottom layer of medium and pool there instead of reaching through the perlite at the bottom and hitting the nute water.

According to the hempy forum, your suppose to run your nutes fill strength, if your running the bucket as per the original, ie, with perlite and vermiculite. If your using coco, then it may be a different ballgame

I topped her at the second node.

When you mean "second node", you're saying you've performed a "FIM" over the second pair of true leaves, am I understanding it right?

Like you topped the main stain, leaving the two nodes "intact", the second one bowl like, right?
