New Grower Topping Autos...

What'd she do when you pruned her? And by pruned do you mean cut some leaves off at stem node or something more major? I ask because I just "defoliated" (cut some, a lot, of the cluttered up leaves off as close to stem as I could get) I can't say I noticed anything but then again I am in ripening phase I guess you could say.

Removed branches leaves buds e.t.c. = pruning

Defoliated = removing of leaves

Slowed down water uptake for 2 ish days

Less food less grow

:cool:

Edit:
You can tjeck my CJH in my sig :grin:

Waiting for the 5th node makes sense, else the plant wont have "side branches" to focus growth at...

You have schooled me, sir! Thank you so much for the advices shared! :)))))

This is a little off topic but I am wondering about some light pruning. I am growing blue mystics and they are short and very bushy. They seem healthy but they have a ton of big leafs covering a lot of flowers around the bottom of the plant. Would it hurt to strategically clip a few leafs to let some more light to the bottom of the plant? I have bent them over just a little. I am at day 28 and they are pre flowering. I don't want top mess anything up but there are several flowers on each plant that are being blocked by the top leafs.

I guess it wouldn't be much of a problem. If I can't tuck them I normally just cut the fingers in half to allow some light through and keep the leaf on. I will cut a few leaves off myself but I just don't go crazy with it. You want to keep your solar panels on if you can.

Thanks faded. I have been tucking every where I can. Snipping a finger or two is probably a better idea. I won't go crazy. Maybe just try one and see how the flower does underneath compared to the others as the grow progresses.

All you want to do is let some light get to the fuzzy ones. You can fold a finger or two and see how the light hits them and go from there.

Here is an update on the pineapple express I topped. I put her in dirt three weeks ago and she took off. The flash from my camera made the second pic look a little lite but she is pretty green and healthy.
