Mine are ready but not enough snow yet to need them in the woods. Light snow to my knees, easy to work in getting trees.

yeah, I'll bet your snowshoes are in fine fettle. Mine are heading for binding design Mark 4, as I recall. I hate the standard bindings, and have been working on my own. Mine only have to fit one size boot, which makes the whole thing, including the final binding a hell of a lot simpler.

Do you fetch your firewood all winter, or put up in the summer/fall seasons? Doing the job up there in the winter could be a nuisance. OTOH, we all love your pics.

Anyway gro bro, good luck with the rest of the winter in 2026, I look forward to seeing what you grow next spring.

Do you fetch your firewood all winter

Yup. I go to woods when temp -30 or above. Colder than that it's difficult to get snogo going.
Having a deep cold spell now. -50 in camp. 20 miles down river in Kobuk this morning....

Also this morning Sola returns. haven't seen her since Dec 3.
