So, after I read about this on the HT mag website. I had to do some digging. It was about this company called Mary's Medicinals.
They brought their transdermal patches/topicals to be entered in the best new product category. I found a patent for it.
US 6328992 B1
I read through a little over half of the patent. I was looking for what made it able to travel through the skin, and into the blood stream.
Mary's medicinal's claims a 10mg THC patch is equal to an 80mg THC edible.
They also said it effects you better then an edible. They said it comes without all the side effects of smoking and or eating.
Im not sure what they mean by that though. Personally I don’t get "negative effects" from cannabis in those aforementioned routes of administration.
I wanted to see if it was something I could figure out how to make on my own. Though, I had to Google some technical terms to understand the literature of the patent on how its made. They use some general technical terms a lot. Go, figure.:dunno:
I thought I would share this, as there is much more educated people here then I. Plus, this is just pretty damn awesome. I hope they bring this to California soon. Its already in Washington/Colorado in the medicinal industry.
This is what, from my understanding. Is what makes it get past your skins defences. I try to be as organic as I can afford. So, not sure if I like the whole chemical side of the patch.
