I have a 7 day old Blue Himalaya seedling that I mistakenly started in a 16oz cup instead of planting directly in the final medium (apparently what should be done).
Should I transplant to its final pot now while it's young, or is it too young to withstand the stress?

cut the bottom of the cup off and tier it into your final pot .. transplanting can cause some stress, and auto's + stress = stunted......

see how WVR has done here he's got 32 oz cups but 16 oz cups will work th sooner the better...........

Thanks, but I've never done this method. I don't know how to water properly this way and I'm afraid I'd run into problems.

Is it really a bad idea to transplant a 7 day old seedling, even if I do it very gently?

(P.S. What strain is that? The buds look dense.)

7 days is a little early to transplant in my opinion. When it comes to virtually all stages of growing and curing, patience is greatly rewarded over being hasty.

I believe its cream deisel and I think its WVR's own work.....

well its not exactly beneficial for it but yes you can transplant it and run it longer at the end, a week should do.
As long as you are very gentle, she'll live... its weed afterall :smokeit:
After 5days germing, i tend to gather up and throw my unpopped seeds in soil outside anyways and usually catch some of the really slow to sprout amongst the sterile beans.
I label those and monitor them a bit more. Then depending on progress (no wilting) I leave it to flower few days longer than the others.

Okay, after some reading on AF I've decided to go with the tiered transplant method.

I've never done this before, so can anyone please help me answer these questions:

1) How much should I cut off the bottom of the cup? And how deep should I plant it?
2) How do I water? Inside the cup or outside? Or water half inside the cup and half outside?
3) When to do the transplant?
4) Does the tiered method affect the yield?

I'd appreciate any help with this.

1) How much should I cut off the bottom of the cup?
as close to the bottom as you can and 1/4 to 1/2 of the cup should be good

2) How do I water?
water both the cup and the pot ( by weight)

3) When to do the transplant?
I would say within 2 weeks with a 16 oz cup.... 32oz and up cups will take you to sex

And you ask if it affects yeild I'd say yes because whene you dont cause any stress you get larger plants... so yes  but its a good effect......

running a stunted plant longer is not gunna make up for the stress created in the vegging cycle of an auto, once the dammage is done it's done.. unless you have experiance transplanting I suggest against it ........
