Hi all, I am wondering about the issue of transplanting autos, ie starting them off in small pots from their jiffy plugs, I am talking about small pots for a week or so approximately half litre pots and then transplant into 25 ltr pots what is your view guys I would be so grateful for any info or comments on that, thanks in advance!

I try to transplant into final pot around week 2 or when i start to see root poking out through the drain holes.I use 16 oz plastic party cups.I allow them to dry out before i transplant.I also use a cup to make a perfect form into the soil of the final container.That way when you flip the plant over and pull off the cup.The root/dirty ball fits snug into the soil in your final pot.The key is not to disturb the root system so it can continue to grow along all happy with no stress!I then water to settle everything into place! Good luck.
I have a question? I was told if the roots hit bottom of cup the plant will stop growing or stunt its growth. Doesn't sound right but thought I would ask
Hi Warrior, i keep my seedlings in 5" to 6" round pots for about a wk until i see roots at the bottom then pot into final pots mate, works well for me 
As always I like it KISS and I DO prevent transplanting, because I think it IS stress...but thats just me 
In soil, I let them sprout and them throw them directly into the dirt.
now in hempy I let them show me their cotyledons and then i put them in and start them with directly feeding at ec .7...It's necessary to keep them moist.

As long as there not in the small pots for to long after you see roots at the bottom you should be fine mate

not sure, but if there is no space for more roots, then plant has to stop, because she couldnt get enough nutes and water and all the other stuff to a bigger plant.
you cant walk with too small shoes, right?
As my mother always said, "you will raise into that shoes till they fit!"
( what would have happened to me if she gave me no new shoes? would I be a dwarf=?)
