I've had a problem with past grows of my trichs not maturing.

In other words, my buds swell and look great. But it has been over the 90 day mark when my trichs start to turn from clear to milky. The buds themselves seem to get past their prime, and sometimes even start getting a little bit brown before the trichromes even start to get darken in color. They have been crystal clear up until, or after the 90 day mark. I'm hoping to avoid this with my current grow.

What would be causing this? Is there a particular nutrient I may not be using enough of?

Heya pal, could be down to a lot of things. Strain being the likely culprit although some never amber at all.

The effects of it were pretty good. Definitely got the job done. But I feel like lost some of its looks, and more importantly flavor and smell, while waiting on the trichs to turn milky, let alone any amber.

You can always snip off a bud to sample if it happens again :pass:

Switching in recent grows to MegaCrop as the base nutes and feeding right up to harvest (no pre-harvest flushing or starving), I'm seeing 'healthier' (presumably) plants staying fully green longer, with sometimes stubborn trichomes that eventually go mostly milky but none go to brown. When that happens, I just harvest at day 100. After than long, I presume not much more at all can be gained (and it's more productive to move in a new plant). And I see nothing wrong with all or mostly milky trichomes, no oxidization/degradation, none brown.

Getb us full details on your lights (type, distance), nutes- dosage/frequency, any problems during bloom, T and RH%,.... as mentioned, some strains can show odd resistance to ambering, well past the aromatics prime in some cases,... sometimes the trich's I see are barely cloudy, other may become milky, but they are mature, prime... clear is immature as a general rule,... that this is happening with different strains though hints at a linked problem with the above parameters,....
