Grow Mediums Tricks for firming up edges on fabric pots?

It was easy fer me.
I changed a LOT of diapers.
Someone will be changing my diapers sooner that later. I just hope there will be a grow area in the nursing home.
I might have to work on this.
Well, at least you'll have some handy organic fertilizer.
I use folder clips on my edges to tie to they hold very well, I’ve even used nylon rope and it didn’t slip off !!! I’m on my 4th grow with these pots and machine washed in hot water after each run so maybe I’m due for new ones ? How long do u guys use yours for ?

Dunno yet, but my current batch in the autopot setup are on grow #3, and I will likely use them until they fall apart, which they are showing no sign of doing yet. I may install grommets and lifting handles for the next grow.
I do think that serious care needs to be taken to sterilize them between grows. Not sure how I will do that this time around... The Rain Science bags may be easier to clean than the standard non-woven ones. The latter end up with fine roots embedded in them, and I at least do not have the patience to dig all of them out. I am not sure soaking in bleach would do it, or whether high enough temperatures would be tolerated by the plastic material. Still thinking about options...
I poked holes about 1" down and then ran some zip-ties through to make little loops. I put 8 on my 5g pot, I use that for manifolds...works great!
As far as resetting fabric pots, I empty the root mass into the compost, then sit the pot in the sun for a day or two to dry out. Most of the organic material crumbles out pretty easily. From there, I'll throw them in the washing machine on a relatively delicate setting and then just let them dry on the patio out back after the spin cycle. I don't use any bleach or detergent, just a little bit of sodium percarbonate (OxiClean).

I get the fine roots as well and found after washing & drying a hair brush (don’t tell my wife or daughters) is perfect for brushing them out !!

That's ok, I have my own brush.
The most effective method I have found so far is to scrape them out with a dull knife blade, but even that does not get the seriously embedded ones. At this point I plan to remove the easy ones, and sterilize the others, just not sure how best to do that.
