Should I freeze it or let it dry out first? I left some of the sugar leaves on the buds because I don't smoke and it will all be used for eatables.

I usually let mine dry first simply because I'm usually not ready to make the oil right away but it's not really necessary. You can do a water cure on the wet trim, then go right to making oil still wet.

i had some left over trim laying in a cardboard box for like 2-3 months making alittle oil now and then ^^

how long are you planning of keeping it?

you can have a look in this thread about freezing *HERE*

Thanks men for the quick reply. I think I will dry and store in a paper bag. My first harvest so will not store very long.

Going to move this over to the edibles forum brother. I freeze my trim but it all depends what you're doing with it. If you're cooking with it, I'd let it dry first then use it. If you're making hash, freeze it wet and it's just as good, "My 2 cents"

When i make iso hash oil i have found a properly dried product works best then bang it and your 99.9% iso in the freezer.

Then do the process as you would. This seems to give me a better end product than with wet unfrozen trim.

iso oil or bho? ive done some research for my bho methods and ive fond frozen UNDRIED n UNCuRED bud and trim but not in the extractor and not in big nugs. usually freeze from 24-48 hours. i dont grind the bud. but you have to be quick when it comes to extracting before the bud unfreezes. the goal here is to stop waxs, chlorophyll and lipids from gettin in your product theyre frozen in place while the triches shoot off from the pressure. thats actually the only way to make a true concentrate. otherwise if not frozen its an oreolie. which than can still be made to an absolute with a winterizing process but still not called a concentrate. hope this helps a lil and once the bud you froze unfreezes idk if i wold freeze again ive always used just what i needed so there was no extra.

Dried and frozen always works the best for me : ) … good luck

Does anybody have experience converting trim to hash, and then into oil? I found that the chunks of bubble hash didn't quite dissolve very cleanly in oil, but I had no problems when I cooked the hash into butter. I would like to make strong oil, for traditional culinary dishes infused with canna.

I don't like usng good flowers for edibles, and would much prefer using trim/popcorn. I like cooking with hash, because it doesn't leave quite as strong of a green taste (although I like the taste of weed in cookies, not so much in a pasta dish or something of the sort lol)
