Topped up the res with plain water as the EC rose from 1.5 to 1.7 overnight.
PH now 5.9
EC 1.2
We will see how they like it in the morning.
Night.

I'm sure you are bringing this ship in safely bust. It should be quite a crop for a single 'plant pot' (but with 2 occupants). It has been interesting to watch !

I am hopeful She will dock ok. :P
Checked on them this morning and the PH rose from 5.9 to 6.1 where as the EC stayed the same at 1.2. Dropped PH back to 5.9. First whiff of smell from outside the grow area when i walked in today. The carbon filter is wayyyy too big for the extractor i have on it so its not doing a whole lot...

Cheers for stopping by Tony.

LED's

A little note about using LED's.

I have noticed that, all be it these units are powerful enough to grow with i would really advise having two of them set up at an angle like Seymour Buds has. Having it hung directly above is fine for the main colas, but towards the end there is really not enough light penetrating through to the lower flowers. By having the lights to the sides slightly and at an angle there will be much better light cover.

I have mylar set up as i have put this up with every HPS grow i have built, not knowing that it really does not have the same effect with LED's. With HPS it really bounces the light around the room making it almost unbearable to the eye. My LED hardly lights it up at all. It is probably doing more than if it was not up still, just not as effective.
Not to say that LST or Super cropping would be an alternative too as this would stop the leaves shading so much.

\just a thought.

Not sure if staged cropping is the correct term for it tbh, just my own way of phrasing what i do. I pretty much always find that the top cola's are at full maturity before the buds 9-12 inches below the top of the canopy or lower. So i generally harbest the top buds, then drop the light/lights down closer to the remaining buds and give them another week. they definately fatten up some and just generally look less anemic. They darken in greenness and the pistols amber up nicely. You may well find your plant is ready all in one go. But my lower buds have always looked a week or 2 behind the top flowers. Might be worth a go. I know i've read of several big outdoor farmers that use this approach on their weed "trees" and work their way down the canopy, sometimes over the course of 3-4 weeks to really squeeze the most out of them. I shouldn't think the likes of us need to worry about more than a two stage crop tho.

:D

oh ps, while your away for your 3 days i'd recomend making your solution a little under strength so as it concentrates while your away it won't get too strong and cause lock out. Less than optimum nutes is always far better than over optimum nutes. IME

Not quite sure about that. With HPS you get a strong concentration of Orange/Red light, and very high lux. With LED, the spectrum is broader (so you SEE less of it), lux is much lower (lux is measure of intensity of visible light, not accounting for other spectrums), but PAR is much much higher.

Not saying you should´t angle! I plan to do it myself. All I am arguing is that only because you SEE more reflection on the mylar with HPS does not mean there is less reflection using LED.

Of course, if the main cola jumps out and you measure the light from its top, then yeah, the lower buds get less light. But that is also true with HID's. So angling down is def a great idea.

Few pics

couple of snaps from yesterday.. Not much changing really. Hoping the PK re-introduction tomorrow will be beneficial. :peace:

Im not talking about the difference in light color, i just feel HPS reaches the lower branches better as it reflects off the mylar more powerfully lighting the bud sites more effectively. The only reason i mention this is because a lot of my lower flowers are purely in darkness.

By angling two or more lights, i believe, the edges of the plant will be in better light.

Cheers for your thoughts. :peace:

Last mix :)

I am now into week 11 since seed cracked. I am thinking i have the 14week'er i have been hearing about. Or mabie i just stunted them loads through the grow, any thoughts??. 3ish weeks is perfect as i have run out of most of my nutrients now.
That being said,:dance2: The last cauldron of nutrients has been mixed :stir: and is on a 12 hour pre-bubble:hot:

Canna Hydro Flores A+B
Canna Boost
Canna PK
Canna Rhizotonic

The PK is back :S
I am going to run this bucket for 7 days at 1.2EC -- 5.9 PH then start topping up with straight water until EC drops to around 0.5. After a day or so here i will run Canna Flush for 4-5 days then straight tap water till the chop :booya:

Will try my best to get some pics up soon.
