I've been lurking since my first grow and am well into my 12th or more now. I've just upgraded my room with a complete Co2 System for a 6'x6' growing area and my new Fluence (Formerly BML) SpyderX Plus LED should be arriving by June 1. I currently use a 1000w MH to week 6 then HPS for the finish but the electric costs are huge and with summer coming I decided to take a chance. I use my own soil mixture of peat, vermiculite, and my own compost with General Hydro nutrients. I have been growing Red Poison for over 2 years now and average about 1.3- 2 ounces/plant. Others do better but I've grown enough for a baseline.
My research has led me to believe that the old BML Spydr was the best option on the market. The price tag of $2,300 kept me at bay though. The new model is more efficient, higher ppfd, lower heat annnnnnd is only $1,500. I decided to document my grow here because it looks as though I am the first member to get this light. I'll keep you updated on my energy costs and of course pictures of my ladies. It's time I gave back.
ETA to Germination is 4 weeks.
In the mean time I'll journal the end of this red poison grow and discuss what I've learned about this amazing plant. I mean you really have to love a strain to grow it for 2 years.
Here is hoping I dont fuck it up. Also I am in NO WAY affiliated with any manufacturers or vendors. Just a guy who likes to garden.
Let me know If you have any questions or anything else you'd like me to pay closer attention to and document as well.
I am EXCITED.

Man I suck at updating these. I always want to do a grow journal but I never complete it. Amazing to see how far I've come. I have to say the SpydrX Plus is the best light I have ever owned. Just ordered a Gorilla Grow tent. I decided to go with the 5x5. the heavy duty line not the lite line. I wanted to get the 4x8 but I think planning ahead two tents would be best. Perhaps I'll get that down the line but next is the controller. My yields are up a fair amount. But its hard to attribute that all to my light as I feel like after 4 years I've just got it figured out and dialed in... my way. I cant wait for my tent to get here and rip down my room. I laugh at how redneck Jerry-Rigged it is. For my grow style I found the NYC Diesel and the Think Big are best. I'll be growing those for the next year or so. 14 week cycles. I'll add pictures and try and actually journal. The Think Bigs I have right now have 6 weeks left and they look AMAZING. I'll definitely snap some photos of them and my god awful setup for some before and after. Good for a laugh anyways. When I started I was poor as hell. Recession all but killed me. So I put together what I could. LMAO...man. I'll post pictures.
