Outdoor Waira's '18 Mixed Bag of Tricks Combo Grow

:smokeout: Thank you Reb and Hec'! :pighug: I gotta say, it's so so nice to be running auto's again, and with much better results (those in the King's Mix anyway) than usual,... The backlog of strains is ridiculous, and some seeds are aging up, so time to fire off as many as I can make work! I'm still setting the riper plants out in the Sun for UVB baking,.... Skyro' and Queenie will be out there soon, when the last 2 sad sacks meet Chop-Eye's! ...I am seriously ready for fresh smokes - :woohoo1:.... Reb, I'm hoping the Female Seeds Sex Bud and GF are as advertised! It's been years since I had a good GF strain, on the Sativa side, not the Kush,.... Ditto for C99, which SB is basically,... They are on the Test for real, these were sponsored seeds, and after chatting with Gennaro, they were well recommended for my grow climate/season,...
yeah, thank the green gods for Mephisto's solid genetics! They won't yield for shit, but the quality is still getting squeezed out,... I'm loving this new soil, it's so clean, mild, dried well, holds pH well too so far,... If ever you want to try soil again, this is a winner! It looks and behaves much more like soilless mediums than the other soils I've seen,...When I did that slurry test, this soil had very little "muddy" fines,.... I think you should score a smaller bag, and try GBD's supersoil mix on a couple, just for shits and giggles,... I can send you a couple-few small pot's worth of the mix,...:eyebrows:... meantime you and Hec' have found a phat groove with your soils and nutes-- :clapper: :headbang:
....:eek1: dude, you've seen Skelly's 11 Roses currently?! Holy Crap, it's a monster, might be the largest fans I have ever seen! The whole crop is jaw-slackening,... he is going to DIE at harvest though!! ...we may need to become migrant workers....

@Waira - First of all, I want to say top work with the plants. They are looking fantastic!

Regarding Female Seeds, I have had a number of issues with them. The last pack I brought was a 4 pack of Red Purps, and only 1 of them germinated. 25% germ rate is disgusting! That is up against near 100% germ rates for Dinafem, Sweet Seeds, Dutch Passion, Mephisto etc. Another time I spent £50 on their seeds, and the delivery arrived with about 9 or 10 seeds missing from the order, including all my freebie seeds.

To top it off, in that same year, one of their Purple Maroc's turned out to be a male plant, and another one hermied on me, pollinating an entire outdoor crop of Sweet Seeds & Female Seeds plants. Ironic, given they are called 'Female Seeds'. Had about 15 photoperiods and autos pollinated by those male Purple Maroc's. My plants never met their full potential because of the pollination and the resulting crosses were crap because the 'Female Seeds' male Purple Maroc parent plants were mould magnets and not potent at all. I was so annoyed I remember throwing about half of my pollinated crop in the bushes come harvest.

And then there is the mould problems. The Purple Maroc, Red Purps & Iced Grapefruit were nothing like any of their descriptions, pictures or finish times and all 3 rotted to hell, until they were slushy stumps. And this happened in September, during a very hot, dry autumn/fall. Whereas my Dinafem OG Kush & Cheese photoperiods went into November that year with like 1-2% mould. So that doesn't add up one bit. Considering the Purple Maroc & Red Purps are bread specifically for outdoor growing in cooler climates. But they rotted away in September. I put it down to weak genetics in the Female Seeds stock. Disgusting again though.

I have pictures of the male plants and the severe mould as I messaged Female Seeds about these issues, with pictures, on a different site, and they ignored me for weeks on end. It wasn't until I went public about my issues on a forum that they spoke up and they claimed... wait for it... that they might have put the wrong seeds in the wrong packets. But by then, I mean it's just too late. Confidence completely shot in that breeder.

On the other hand, I only have positive stuff to say about Dinafem, Sweet Seeds, Dutch Passion, Mephisto. Professionalism. Good customer service. Good genetics.

-- wow, that's a real shit-show alright Anglo',.. sorry to hear! Duly noted too, BTW,... You know AFN, we don't troll, we don't :kissass:,...and when we test, we tell it like it is-- or isn't! ...the integrity of our testing policy and test folks are a big part of our rep' here,...We want to give fair chance for any given product to shine or flop, and the companies to step up, or step aside,...:pimp:.... Did you buy direct from them?

I know that the Female seeds do sell a C99 that is a "fast" strain. Perhaps that gene is also mixed with the auto's genes? I grew them out last year, and they went into flower while the lights were in veg 18/6. That happened shortly before I flipped them.

Did it happen as soon as the plant was mature enough?
:jointman:... tent crew,.... funny how some plants react! The CQ grew so squat and wide, but the OD went nuts with stretch, not so much node stacking though ....

>> Cosmic Queen; I slacked on doing proper pruning, training,...:naughtystep:... I'll get underskirt and do some clean-up,...

>>> and lastly, the sad sacks in Vermisoil,... Skyrone Stomper is down already,.. at least that was done in 7 weeks! .... wimpy yield, but very stinky and frosty though.... All will get a proper rerun soon! Quality is actually pretty good despite the schwag soil,... just could not get them to fatten up much more, but I sure tried! :deadhorse:

Super Blueberry--> filling in better now, delish aroma of Haze/floral/berry,... gonna be petite finger buds though,...

..... Sour Livers-- interesting aroma, hard to describe,.. a mix of spicy/fruity-sweet, mild florals,... also getting some density finally,...

Yes, it reached maturity in four weeks, two weeks before the others, (Trainwreck, Purple TW, Lamb's Bread, Cheese, and a couple more, and went right into flower after that. They finished a good three weeks before any of the other's.

Funny, I was gonna comment on the gargoyle as well, (first read)

I Saw them first @Eekman ...:dragon2:...

I wouldn't go near Female Seeds if you paid me. I have had multiple problems with seeds not germinating, deformities, poor mould resistance, plants nothing like the descriptions, and dreadful customer service when I raised this. Their seeds are cheap though, so I guess you get what you pay...

There is a minimum standard you will accept when you pay your money...and that is seed that germinates.
Have you Reviewed them..?
There is a section for Customer Care service...:headbang:

I'll tell it straight, ain't no sychophants in this test group!

That's what Testing's for.....:bravo:

nice selection there mate .

Yup........:headbang:...I Bet you are getting some Nice aromatics..........

I hear you Waira. I totally 100% agree that everyone should get a fair representation, and that is exactly what I intend to do, as I have been photo-documenting my grows (including Female Seeds stuff) over the past 4 years. Mostly on another forum (before I came here), so all of it is there for people to see, with pics from seed to harvest of each plant I grow. So the male plants and mould problems have been well (but fairly) documented in diaries with pictures. Just like all my other plants.

I just feel Female Seeds has burnt me for the time, effort & money that I have invested into their products & my previous grows. I mean seeds missing from orders, rogue males pollinating crops, mould problems, them ignoring messages on Breeder Support forums. The list goes on. Basically I ordered about 30 seeds direct from them in 2015, which was when my package arrived with 10 seeds missing. That was the same year that I had one of their Purple Maroc's produce a male and a hermie on me, pollinating my crop. So annoying.

Despite this, I STILL ran a pack of their Red Purps & Iced Grapefruit the following year in 2016, giving them another chance, as lots of people were recommending it, saying the Red Purps was fantastic for outdoors in the UK. Of course only 1 of the 4 Red Purps germinated, and most of it rotted away in September. And both of my 10 foot tall Female Seeds Iced Grapefruit photoperiods also rotted away for some reason. I have never seen bud rot like this before. The pictures I have of the mould is devastating. I mean completely 100% rotted to slush. In September. I don't understand why they moulded like that? Still no explanation from Female Seeds.

Sorry about the rant. Just too many problems with this breeder to be coincidental. I wanted to make my opinion clear on this breeder when I saw them referenced in a post. By all means, grow some of their stuff. But me personally, I won't touch their beans with a 10 foot pole. Just being honest.

All the best with this grow mate. Again, really, really impressive looking plants! Wish my outdoor autos looked that good haha

Looking good I am curious to how the c99 does I had one but shelved it because it couldn't handle heat like my beloved kush an afghani varietals thinking about running it in March provided I could get my hands on some cobs by then for a light dep greenie adventure .Heat shouldn't be an issue then in its defense most sativa based strains don't like heat .
