Outdoor Waira's '18 Mixed Bag of Tricks Combo Grow

Sorry about the issues there @Waira.
Still, you'll have some nice herb which is better than nothing.

Some plants, yeah, they just have issues...
These are photos, right?
I guess that's why we pheno hunt.
Dropping dozens of beans to find a keeper.
Then keep her going for as long as we can.

I had a couple last round that just freaked out.
Both my 15:1 high CBD photos, too...
So just left with 2:1 and 1:1 meds...

Keep trying buddy, we all love your grows!
And you're so generous with your knowledge.
:bighug: Maria lovie, how are you? Thank you for the kind words as always my friend... I've fallen off the radar on grow journals lately, just not enough time! If I miss something , you should holler at me and I'll come check it out! What happened with the high CBD girls?
I dunno Maria, when you have common issues among different strains, it's probably not a pheno' thing, not to say both can't happen to different degrees! I've seen samples of C+2.0 and it's solid bud usually,.. :shrug: ... an update is following this, so you'll see some improvement on them,.. Grapefruit is just fine! This begs the question about if she's just a lighter feeder, or did her 2 weeks younger age/later bloom set help reduce the impact on what part the nutrition played in this,... I know from direct experience with the KindSoil what lack of P can do to the critical initial bud setting period :doh: ........ Anyway, I grumble because I'm a picky bastard! :rofl: As I watch things progress, and weather improves, I'm thinking a few things were behind the prob's, some of which is on me.... New strains, and not knowing their appetites, plus new nutes, cool low-Sun weather, small pots,.... I have started using a TDS meter to double check actual nute solution strength and it's definitely helped! I did an early test just to see what a set amount measures, then usually I just go by volume... but MC has a mix of fine powder and little balls, which tends to separate out some, and this can result in uneven amounts of both... that means the ratios on nutes are variable as well, and thus so will the TDS reading because there are several non-ionic components to MC that won't register on a TDS meter! ... thinking maybe I got a "rich" misreading on my first test, and based things off that, and ended up underfeeding..? We'll see, there's still some time for most of them to fatten up properly :greenthumb:

~~~{{{ Update Time }}}~~~
:toke: :smokeout: .... Things are getting better I believe,... weather sure is! The girls are getting feed pretty aggressively lately, and mixing in other nute brands like Dyna-Gro,... bud development is improving :woohoo1:.... C+2.0 is nearly done, but some late filling in has happened which makes me happy that she won't a total larfy mess after all! She's been getting the Bud Explosion high K stuff to finish on, and now it's just water and some sweet stuff until chop time next week...:thumbsup: .... there's been a little pistil browning from the foliars of Armory, expected,...
Everybody got some clearing out of crappy fans to get more light on buddage, so they look a bit threadbare now,...more adjusting, tying down to open up further as well!.... Colors are coming on nicely :spels:-- lovely! ......... we had some light drizzle last night, that's what's on the lenses in the pics- :cuss:-damn weird weather! Makes my butt clench about mold,...
The thief leftovers from mine is pretty solid bud(considering limited light)...not mold resistant at all though on my end. The partiall sun garden tests limits for sure, with no sun until noon, and all of the leftover blackberries.
Hola!
:bighug:
I've fallen off the radar on grow journals lately, just not enough time! If I miss something , you should holler at me and I'll come check it out! What happened with the high CBD girls?
Not sure what happened during the growing, but they cooked down to some RSO which was not too bad in the end.
I make my RSO adding a bit of oil at the end. It moves cannabinoids % right down, aiming around 10%.
But that is good for me, I find it easier to measure doses, and it's nowhere near as hard in the syringe, I use a dropper bottle.
I had some straight Sweet Skunk RSO and blew my own head off with a misjudged dose, haha!!
But with the 10% or so (1:10 RSO to olive oil) a full dropper is a nice happy amount.
Yeah, I don't think it was a pheno thing. Mainly the micro grow -- those photos were all in 1L pots.
My autos were in 2L, and they all went way, way longer than expected.
Though, speaking of phenos, the Sweet Pure CBD grew far more like a straight, thick stem low branching afghanica than Sweet's description.
The Charlotte's Angel was a long leggy sativa though, and she needed much space.
Any feeding in a 1L pot is risking over or under feeding.
Think I'll do a minimum of 2L even if I do another micro grow.
And of course, big big pots if I can.
Next grow likely to be outdoor guerilla in the outer suburb / farmland wastelands....
I had a cheap TDS meter which I found helpful, using Peters hydro two-part formula.
The different sizes of the grains was an issue for me, too.
Any spoonful from the bag -- sometimes had more of larger or smaller granuales.
Hope the end of summer to fall is kind to your kind buds.
Looks like you are going to get plenty of flowers from your girls this year!
MoB. looks like taking after P#1 that I used for this reproduction. Friend of mine, is growing a beast in the UK, and flowers are going purple. My remaining MoB in the hoop house was no way going to finish. Harvested A LOT of immature flowers yesterday, little to finish today.
Been a very cool over cast Sept here, after record breaking heat and drought from June-August. Temps in the hoop house were 120 F. for weeks on end. Looks like I have at least another week of frost free weather here. Waiting for plenty of amber on most of the girls.
My MoB/OG x C99a, did end up somewhat re vegging on me. Should make some outstanding bubble hash and daytime Canna Caps. I will make sure and get a pic of her and the other girls as i harvest. Very hard to get decent pics, as there are way too many girls in the hoop house this year. Can't really take most of them out either. I will take some whole hh pics as well, so you can see what i am talking about.
Have a great day my friend!
Stick.
:eek1: 1L! -no wonder Maria, that's a very difficult challenge,... they just don't adapt well to that usually, especially by blooming, plus the crazy up/down levels of moisture and nutes,..a real tolerance test! I remember Rebel's 2L photo Comp' that had more than a few crash and burn,...
I had some straight Sweet Skunk RSO and blew my own head off with a misjudged dose, haha!!
:doh: :dizzy:---:haha::haha::haha: ..part of the hazards of being your own guinea pig! It was, however, a success right? :rofl::baked:
... yeah, the TDS readings were an eye opener,... after reading all the hiccups with dosing MC, and how peeps were reducing it, I just got it in my head it was pretty hot,... seems it isn't so much after all, and some TDS readings sooner would have helped likely,... there's a definite difference in feeds tolerance among this lot too, and the early tip "burn" I was reading my not have been the best indicator..? We'll see next season,...:biggrin:
@StickMan :pass: ... yields will be pretty poor actually, except for the GF... :rofl: ... the 11R in particular, she just had a lousy transition for sure,...:doh: But you're right, for my consumption rates, I'll be well covered regardless if all ends well! :goodluck: :karmacloud: ....
Weather is bi-polar lately :cuss:... we had fucking drizzle a couple nights, and cloudy crap for several days which naturally kicked off the Mold Wars ... a few OK days now, them maybe a light rain Tues.,...:doh: more on that in the update!
So, your UK mate is getting a full purple expression? Interesting! ...aww damn, yours was veg'ing that long? Was it the heat that did this? MoB is usually one of the first across the finish line,...:shrug:....... Which parent number was the "White" super frost pheno? I forget, are the seeds a mix of the 2 females, green and white/frosty? I got a woody for that super-frost one! .......... mine will be done soon, she's had her last feed I think,.. as usual, she fills in late! The damn compactness of the tips is making for fan shading of buds, so i may do another round of snipping,.. still gonna be a fair amount of larfy stuff.... but the aroma is heavenly, sweet berry candy all the way! :drool:... and he Fall color show is gorgeous....
What happened with the MOGK99, did you get weird structure and low bud:leaf? Wonder if the damn heat was behind that too,... I'm hounding my friend over here to get me samples of his so we can compare! I'll keep you up on that...:eyebrows:
>>> Cheers @Duggy :passit: ...got get caught up with you too,...:eyebrows:
