I am very new to growing and so far you guys have been a great help.

Currently my plant looks like this:

I'm giving the plant 3 squirts of spray water, 3 times a day. Its only been 2 days since I planted the seed after germinating it (using the paper towel method).

Should I put the plant under light now? 20/4 cycle.

I will be putting the seed directly into the final pot on my next grow.

However, I am unsure how much to water what I have now and how much to water when it will be in the final pot.

Thanks.

Hey, i say she looks fine for how old she is, maybe a little wet from what i can see try just squirting it once a day from what ive heard its ment to be moist not wet for seedlings and i would turn the lights on what ever cycle your going to use now... as for watering when its in its last pot i go up from 250ml to be safe, but as for now id say yours need 25-35ml a day of water tops :)

Hope that helps you.......
Hop digity

Hey D7reu.... That plant does look awfully wet.... I wouldnt give it any more water for a while as it will cause problems real soon.... You could give them a little amount of light but not too much 1x 23w CFL would be ok if you have it.... It will help dry the soil a little too....

At the stage your at there is hardly any root system to use up all the water thats going on them... Surprisingly they need very little water at this stage..... :smokebuds:

Is that pot sitting in water? If so get it out of there your drowning the poor thing. You should never plant in clear containers.Just let it dry out for a few days and then keep it moist not soaked.

Cheers guys

So putting the plant under my 125w CFL is too much? If so, when should I put it under?

A lot depends on your grow space.... I had a 250w cfl in a small cab and that got far to warm for young seedling... Stage yours are at you dont need light really day light is enough, it will be ready for lights in a couple of days.... Your main concern atm is the over watering, maybe prick a few more holes in that cup to help it dry quicker..... :smokebuds:

Just put some duct tape around the pot to block out the light, poke some holes in the pot with a small screw driver (a lot 20 or so) and definitly get it under a light 30w cfl close up or 125/250w a bit further away.

Only water/spray it when you see the top inch of the soil become dry.

Good luck, and are you going to start a journal? - lots of great people on these boards will help you throughout

Ill defentantly start a journal, however this plant might not live as I am still trying to build my grow tent.

The grow tent will be 50x50x110.
125W CFL for Vegging
250W CFL for Flowering
4 Inch PC Fan as the bottom intake
Carbon filter blowing out of another 4 Inch PC Fan at the top.

Welcome to AFN!! :welcome:
It's drowning, d7reu.
What soil mix are you using? Unless it drains like a madman, I would consider re-potting to its final container with bone dry soil. If you put that soggy plug into a dry medium, it may wick away enought water and get some O2 back into your root zone.
Just my :2cents: , but I'd do it pretty dang quick.
