Grow Mediums watering my plants in cocco

I've seen growers grow in coco that doesn't have much pith. Coild be why your seeing a bigger difference with out the soil. Soil will hold some water, not like coco pith. If you used a super filtered or washed coco, a lot of pith could have been removed.
